Very good - Not Perfect

I have been using TurboTax for years. I give it 4 stars because it is generally easy to use and pretty thorough. The input screens are pretty straight-forward with helpful links if you have questions. Usually, I have a mix of investment income, W-2, HSA, IRA, and now social security. And, on occasion, some K-1, business income, or inheritance. Although, each year I seem to run into at least one entry that I have a question on. It requires some research, a visit to their help center, and some Googling. I have always figured it out. It would likely be easier if I just used their online paid assistance in those situations, but I have not convinced myself to pay for that extra service yet. I am a repeat user and it is very convenient that the software brings in my previous year's returns for comparison purposes and to prompt my current year entries. Overall - very good, not perfect

Turbo Tax is excellent and saves on filing expense

I've been using Turbo Tax physical discs for many years. It never failed me. I was forced to purchase the digital download for 2024, because it is no longer available on physical disc. The digital download process went smoothly, although I had the caps lock on when I entered the Product Key. Do Not do that, it won't recognize it. Everything else was fine. I have always highly recommended Turbo Tax. It's easy to use, it covers all of the information you may need. The digital download for Turbo Tax Deluxe allows you to do up to five Federal returns for $55. You can't go to a tax preparer for one return for that cheap. It's also kind of fun to do.

I like the way Turbo Tax leads you through the process and provides guidance along the way. It is helpful when they note situations that are uncommon. I had trouble with the Portal Key to start with. Mainly I wasn't doing it correctly but a little more instruction would have saved me about 30 minutes of hassle.
