Glad it's only once a year!

I extremely dislike NOT being able to print a hardcopy of review BEFORE filing. It's aggravating to not be able to see what's being sent. Having no print instructions makes it harder!
I've been using TurboTax for years but at 82 it's getting very difficult to follow all of the @$#@@$ you have to answer.

Bug

software bug: "Return cannot be e-filed when the sum of Illinois wages plus out of state wages on all W-2s does not equal total wages reported on IL schedule CR." Software recognized my non-IL income altogether to IL income in IL schedule CR A column. I had to delete amount in column B which didn't make sense.

Hurray, 2024 successfully completed

Made it easy to complete my 2024 federal and NJ state income tax forms. Only had one hiccup on state form. The W-2 forms my wife and I received as poll workers had an entry on line 17 and no entry on line 16.The program said that line 16 could not be less than line 17. I had difficulty getting past it all other all okay.

2024 was NOT awesome

One of the items came back that I had to check and there was no explanation as to what the item pertained too. It appeared to be the extra income from gambling winnings. There should have been a drop-down box explaining the purpose of the additional amount the box wanted. There was no explanation other than it needed a dollar amount. For the amount of money, I spend on this service I expect everything to be easy and spelled out in detail.

Clean up the bugs in program

Program froze at the end of my 4th return, call customer service the young women I spoke with was excellent. I did not get her name, but she was out of your call center in Houston, TX. Very nice lady and very helpful. Unfortunately I could not find the license code for my original program of Turbo Tax and had to buy a new one. The program kept wanting me to update at the end of the Federal return but kept giving me a error code 1603. Loaded in the new copy and it recovered my old and working on return at the point I was at and everything is fine now. First time since 2002 that Turbo Tax froze on my computer like that.
