Everything went smoothly

My only issue was that I had to "re-do" my return (before I filed them) (after I paid to file the star return) as I had made a mistake. So therefore I had to pay twice (unfortunate). I was hoping to contact Intuit to see if I could cancel out my first payment? No luck!

Turbo Tax Consistent Year-After-Year
on March 17, 2025

I like that it is consistent year-after-year. Years ago, there was an estimate feature "EST" that would allow to guesstimate when certain form(s) did not arrive yet. I miss the EST/estimate feature.
Pros: I bought or sold investments

i have been using Turbo Tax for well over 20 years. I trust all the calculations and have never had any issues. Just to clarify something, I do 5 returns every year so that mean 100 Federal and State taxes completed without any errors.

Turbo tax has program errors and print problems
on March 17, 2025
Posted by: Trying to help it improve
I am using the Mac version of desktop Turbotax Deluxe. Also, I am using an HP Office Jet 9010 printer.
There are two problems. First, I was unable to print specific forms. I could only print the entire return. That made it VERY inconvenient to make comparisons and checks for consistency. To do so, it was necessary to take screenshots and print them out. That was a problem because it was necessary to make multiple screenshots to get a complete copy of each form. I do not have trouble printing with other software.
The second problem is that the Virginia state program has PROGRAMMING ERRORS that put information in the wrong place, which requires overriding the program (if you know enough to recognize and correct the problems).
Interest on US government securities is EXEMPT from state taxes. But the Virginia program puts that interest into Other Additions to income. It shows up on the Other Additions Statement on the line for Code 10. The description on that line is confusing, but the point is that it is being classified as an ADDITION to taxable income, instead of being SUBTRACTED as it should be because it is tax exempt.
It also appears on the Worksheet for Spouse Tax Adjustment and Virginia Taxable Income Allocation on line 2c, Other Additions. Instead it SHOULD appear under Other Subtractios, on line 7c, Income from Obligations or Securities of the United States. It is clear that tax exempt interest should be subtracted from income, not added.
