I was supposed to get first state filing free. During installation I read the screen that said my version of Turbo Tax qualified for first state filing FREE. I filed 2 state returns and neither was free. I was offered a $5 off.

For some reason I was not able to transfer my information from my 2023 tax return over to 2024 software. It may have been my mistake but it should have transferred right away in the beginning, so that is why I gave it 4 stars.

Used TurboTax for over 30 years. Planning for next tax year could be made more prevalent and transparent. You really have to search for the correct forms AND in the step by step process there is no path to follow. This aspect of planning for next year's taxes can be made better.

Overcharge for a basic return. They keep trying to upsell you on features. The whole thing is one huge nonstop ad.
