TurboTax should be better by now

Too many bugs in the program. 1. State of Tennessee should not be asked to purchase. there is not income tax there. 2. purchasing multiple states, the program sees that all tax returns need to be filed for all the states even for people not living on those states. where are the engineers on this? horrible. instructions are bad, or none at all.

Limited Frustration - Still have good results

This was another good year using the Software. Since I collect all my Important Tax Information items and wait to March to file, the software is ready to go after updates. Each year, changes are made to the process of stepping the tax payer through to achieve the goal of finishing. All questions asked address all the forms I had. Since I have used this software for years, I love the Review process as it identified an Item I had not received my form for.
One negative....Wal-Mart DE Mexico SA DE CV does not appear to have a Federal Identification Number. On my Form it clearly shows 00-0000000
After reviewing the last 7 years of Returns and supporting documents I keep with them, it has Always been this 00-0000000
But the Software REFUSED to let me pass this section under the Automated Review. This needs to be corrected so that it comes down to a ""I see you have entered this information, please verify and SIGN OFF that that is exactly what is shown on your 1099-DIV statement""
After reviewing the last 7 years of Returns and supporting documents I keep with them, it has Always been this 00-0000000

Made it through another year!

Have been using Turbo Tax for years and years. This year I had a problem with the update on 3/12/25. I called and spoke with Ingrid, who was VERY helpful. She walked me through what I needed to do to get the update to work.

Non-Qualified Annuity

Turbo Tax needs to provide an improved method for addressing non-qualified annuities. The step by step process is flawed - it never asks for non-qualified annuity information. You have to switch to fiorms to enter the non-qualified annuity box. This has been an issue for several years. It needs to be addressed.

you have complicated trying to resolve easy questions. We have to buy a service if we want to ask a simple question. For example, where do you input the 1095 C info. I couldn't find out how. I know you need to generate income but this is rediculous. I will look at other programs for next year.
