Glitches

I could not figure out how to apply part of NYS overpayment to next year's estimated payments, and get a refund of the excess. So I had to take refund of all, and will have to make estimated payments - annoying. Also why doesn't Turbotax ask for the Federal PIN we set up with the IRS to protect against identity theft?

Turbotax is an effective tax return package

Turbotax is an effective tax return package. However, you do WAY too much sales promotion during the process of using your tax return software. I feel like I probably paid an extra $10 just so your programmers could sneak in a sales pitch at various points in the process.

MY ONLY OBJECTION WAS IT CANT FIND PREVIOS YEARS .I HAD TO SWITCH TO A COMPUTER I USED TO DO MY TURBO TAX 3 YEARS AGO. ALL IFO WAS HERE BUT I COULD NOT IMPORT 2022 INFO THAT WAS ON THIS COMPUTER. I HAD TO DO IT ALL MANUAL AGAIN. WHY CANT YOU SCAN FOR ANY OLD TAX INFO MAYBE BACK 3 YEARS. TOOK ME AN EXTRA 1 HOUR

Once you get the hang of it, it's very easy. Sometimes it has some complexities but it all depends on what somethings mean. Sometimes I have to double check with someone that I'm interpreting something correctly.

What happened to the easy 1099 entry area?

the 1099 entry area use to be easier to click on the ones e had last year and edit contents. Now we loop through importing thins from places I don't go and restarting the selections over and over while I have to retype the company name and hope I don't have 3 of them with slight typing errors. especially the 1099-B section which is horrible. I hope I got everything correct without paying a $60 fee for a short form return.

Dont change format

I have used TurboTax for years. It has always been easy to enter my information and file my taxes. I particularly like where my previous year's information is added. However, this year I really did not like the format for entering 1099 INT and 1099 DIV information! I found it unorganized and confusing. Please go back to the previous way of entering that information. Thank you.
