I've been using Turbo Tax for at least 25 years and have always been satisfied with the product. Filing taxes is not easy and I couldn't do it without Turbo Tax as the forms have only gotten more difficult over the years. This year I kept getting an error message that I couldn't figure out. I called support and Melinda was very patient and kept walking me through the pertinent forms until I finally found the problem. Thank you, Melinda.

Some very annoying issues....

I've been using Turbo Tax for years and for the most part it works good. However, this year I noticed 2 very annoying things...
(1) I eFile my FED return but choose to mail my CO return because I don't want to pay the state return efile fee. During FILE A RETURN it doesn't make it easy/intuitive to mail a state return. After completing the FED efile you get 2 options [E-file my state return now] or [Do not e-file my state return now, I'll do it later] for filling your state return. If you select the 'Do not e-file my state return now' you get stuck in a NOTHING WAS SELECTED TO E-FILE webpage. TurboTax does not guide you to complete the mail a state return, instead you have to backtrack/find the 'print your return' webpage so you can print the state return. It's like TurboTax is saying to a customer, you don't want to pay us a fee to efile your state return, you are on your own to figure this out. Extremely annoying.
(2) I'm getting a REFUND in my state return. In past years, TurboTax has guided me thru the process of providing my routing info for the direct deposit of my REFUND. Not so this time. I had to figure out how to open and edit the form to get the info in there. Again super annoying.
It stuff like this that adds an extra layer of irritation to doing taxes. The whole reason we purchase TurboTax is it's supposed to make it easier and not frustrating.

Watch out for the hidden fees

Hidden filing fees are horrible! You are led to believe that Federal and State are free to file, the state is not free to file electronically.
