Great upgrade to the original lock with WiFi

Great lock. Love that they finally added WiFi connectivity with remote access. This was the original reason I purchased and to replace my original keypad/finger print Wyze lock. Loved this new one and the palm reader. It does not fail as often as the fingerprint scan does. I do recommend everyone washing hands and wearing the rings you normally do when registering the palm for the first time. My son did not and had to register his a second time to improve the recognition.

I love this door lock but there are a couple of issues that need attention. The lock will not read my palm under low lighting conditions and also I struggle a lot when using my right hand palm. I love the fact that it detects when the door is actually closed to lock it.

overall, it’s a good product. The installation was simple, especially if you already had an existing deadbolt. Registering your palms was a little tricky at first due to the angle however, once you understand the angle it’s easily achieve if you stand back about an arm length and hold your hand, almost as if you were going to cover the top of the lock with your hand.
Wyze should be commended for developing a very effective palm reader, as each person‘s palm is unique even if your hand is wet or dry.
if you want to give access to your home using this method, you as the administrator will need to register the users hands if the user does not want to use the app to trigger the registration process.
Performance is excellent however recharging the batteries is a little less desirable as you have to detach the battery from the device and plug it into a USB-C charger. Battery life is excellent.
