I had a Wyze lock with fingerprint sensor and keyboard. The fingerprint sensor failed so often that I gave up using it. I replaced that lock with the palm sensor. It is great. I did have one occasion when the wouldn't unlock for my palm but every other entrance was flawless. I especially like the rechargeable battery. The addition of a backup physical lock is a waste of space. I changed out all of my exterior locks to keyless entry. I don't carry any house keys and don't want to.
Pros: Easy to install. Good battery life. Only locks when door is fully shut (no premature locking). Alarm to let you know if door left open. Easy to add guest codes. Can lock and unlock remotely.
Cons: It can take a few tries to add a new palm. It goes offline on occasion, therefore, cannot access lock from app.
This lock has a total of 6 ways it can allow you to unlock. The palm lock/unlock feature is game changer. I wish it allowed to setup multiple temporary 4 digit codes.
I absolutely love this lock. It is by far the best one I have owned. I have previously used Yale and Built locks, but the Wyze Palm Lock’s palm recognition technology is in a different league. It is fast, reliable, and I have not had a single false read yet. Setup was simple, and the overall build feels solid and secure.
The only small challenge is that it can occasionally struggle to recognize younger kids’ palms, but the backup access codes work perfectly for them. Overall, this lock has been outstanding, convenient, accurate, and worth every penny.
I purchased two Wyze Palm Locks to use at the front of my house and I am confident that I made the right decision. At the rear of my house I have three Level locks - these were more than twice the price, are unreliable and have a very flaky integration with Alexa. Although the Wyze Locks are bigger than the Level locks, the reliability and the Alexa integration along with the convenience of the palm entry makes them a winner in my book.
