I was a little skeptical about buying this but I thought I would give it a shot. I was impressed with how well it worked. The installation was pretty straightforward if you ever installed a door lock before it’s about the same. Programming it was fairly simple also. The instructions do need to tell you how to charge the battery. Also the battery fully charged light never did come on after 12 hours of charging.
I would have given 5+ stars except the battery is not keeping a good charge. I've had this lock for less than a month and the battery is already down to 27%.
I upgraded from the older Wyze Lock to this model, and it feels noticeably more solid and well built. It’s clearly an improvement in terms of hardware quality. Battery life remains to be seen over time, but I’m hopeful it will be better than the previous version.
The main downside is the lack of backward compatibility, it doesn’t work with the original Wyze Doorbell. That integration was useful to me, so losing it is disappointing and feels like a step back.
Overall, it’s a strong upgrade in build quality, but the missing support for older Wyze devices is a real drawback.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I like the door lock but don't love it. It doesn't recognize my hand sometimes and also inexplicably does't lock sometimes I have a bunch of wyze products and love them. Not so much with the lock
