This "Empire Red" food processor is not the same color as my Kitchenaid Empire Red blender or my Kitchenaid Empire Red toaster.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am really enjoying my food processor. I can’t believe how much time is saved in the kitchen now. This processor does so many things I love it chops , dices ,purées and so much more. I’ve used it for making salsas, chopping fruits and vegetables I’ve even made smoothies it’s wonderful. No more sore hands from chopping those onions and other foods. The cord is plenty long and it doesn’t take up much space on the counter top at all. I really like how easy it is to use and it’s cleans easily as well. It’s very durable and the quality is great. I like how it has a clamp that keeps the lid secure during use. The design is awesome. Very pleased with this product I have no doubt it will last me years and years .

Started smoking first use

Bought this Food Processor 5 days ago. First opportunity to use it was last night, and it started smoking while using it. Granted, it was under some strain as I was mixing meat for meatballs, but it was not overloaded. It would stop, smoke and then not start until I unlocked and relocked the main container unit. After this, it would start again and then stop, smoke and only restart after unlocking and locking. I halved the amount I was processing and the problem stopped. Not sure what to do at this point, Kitchen Aid, suggestions?

It's a workhorse for its size

Perfect for a smaller kitchen or dorm. Does almost everything the larger models do, but smaller. Has blade/slicer storage inside the bowl.

Base is Dead

We received this as a wedding gift...it was the first thing we registered for. Used it about 10 times (not even to its full potential) and when we went to use it about a week ago the base was dead and didn’t turn on. We tried every plug in the kitchen, turning off and on our circuit breakers, and nothing.
So disappointing, considering I thought this top of the line product would last for years to come. Now what do we do??
