Very DRY results. Does not work as described.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Grain and Rice Cooker was a good idea, but does NOT work as described. It consistently does NOT use enough water, leaving the cooked dish very dry. Because of this, I use the 'soft' setting, which adds more water in the cooking process for a better normal result. In some cases, there are some uncooked rice/grains, so I've had to add additional water after the cook cycle is complete. On the plus side: The program-ahead feature is convenient.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the machine once to prepare oatmeal via a timer. When it was ready, I noticed that there was liquid all around the base. The oatmeal had steamed and overflowed through the vent. I only had a cup of grains in there. Maybe I didn’t have the parts in the lid on correctly after washing it. I will try again. I’m hopeful this will be a great machine for me to use on a variety of foods.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Some things come out perfect. Quinoa, for instance, is light and fluffy. I have never achieved that level of fluffiness cooking it on the stove. Other things, however, are coming out dry or undercooked. Farro is a good example. I got this specifically because I want to eat more of this super healthy grain. I like the set it and forget it concept of cooking the farro this way, but I have not achieved a level of softness to my liking yet. Jasmine rice has come out on the dry side. Forbidden rice, (black) came out perfectly. Now on to the steaming feature. Broccoli cooked to perfection! However, it does not have the ability to choose what food you are steaming so you have to set a separate timer or you’ll get mush. I have to watch the machine while “water is heating” and then when steaming starts I set my timer. Maybe there is a way to adjust this preset time? I haven’t found it yet. Mostly the machine is user friendly but I have not had good results with going into the custom settings. A little confusing to use.
Oatmeal, rolled oats, have also been a little drier than I like. They are cooked well but not enough liquid.
I have tried using other liquids than water. I used a broth for some lentils. And I once used milk for the oats. Unfortunately the machine does not tell you when to stop adding liquid which I didn’t realize so I probably added too much broth for the lentils and not enough milk for the oats. Am I missing something here again? This is a smart machine that is weighing what I’m putting in so shouldn’t it tell me when to stop when it’s not using the water from the reservoir?
Overall I’m not sorry I got it. I like kitchen toys that make things easier for me and this does help. I perhaps need to tinker around further to get the results I prefer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this rice and grain cooker and it is amazing! It is super convenient to use, and the rice comes out perfect every time. The built in scale and automatic water dispensing make it super quick and easy to get the rice cooking and takes away the hassle that cooking rice once was.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The rice and green cooker is defective. It overcooks rice and quinoa and it malfunctions when you cook oats.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's easy to use and tun to use since it's a unique design. It says you can cook 8 cups of rice the reason my husband convinced me to get this rice cooker but apparently it I put 3½ cup of rice it's still cook fully but not as soft of the texture of the rice I wanted. 3 cups is perfect for my Asian preferences for my rice. So this is perfect for small family but if you are asian and going to ha e a party and gonna serve rice this would not be the best option to use since cooking the rice probably take 30 mins or so and it will only cook 3 cups of rice if you want your rice perfectly soft.
