Worked well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Smaller than I originally anticipated but I love that it’s not too bulky. I like that it looks sleek and not an eye sore on the counter. It’s good for different kinds of grains and it lets you choose the presets and level of doneness. It’s supposed to automatically measure the amount of water needed so it takes the guesswork out of it. You just fill the side tank and the machine does the rest. It also comes with a steam dish!
It worked well with rice but it did leave it a little mushier than I would like. Not a deal breaker though. I also attempted to add some fish fillets to cook with the rice and those cooked well too. The machine weighs the food and figures out how much water it’ll need and how long it’ll take to cook. There’s a timer which is convenient and a “keep heated” option after your food is done cooking. Mine showed to keep warm for 4 hrs after done cooking. I’m not sure how to change that or if it’s just a default setting.
The machine was easy to clean but kind of bothersome. You have to leave the lid open to make sure the moisture doesn’t stay trapped. But even the next day, there was still water trapped on the lid that I had to then go in with a napkin to dry. I imagine this would cause mold if you’re not wiping it down fully after each use.
Another thing is that it didn’t come with a spoon to scoop up the rice. Every rice cooker I’ve bought has come with its own spoon since the bowl can be scratched if you use something to harsh. Seems like a cheap thing to not include.
Overall, ok. I would recommend this particular item to anyone. I feel like there’s better options out there but maybe for someone who cooks beans or other types of grains, it could prove useful.

It's big enough to make a meal for an extended family. It's very easy to use, It has a quick start guide with all the important explanations when turning on the rice cooker.

The KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker is a convenie

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The KitchenAid Grain and Rice Cooker is a game-changer for anyone who loves perfectly cooked grains without the guesswork. With 21 presets, an integrated scale, and automatic water dispensing, it takes the hassle out of measuring and cooking. I make rice or quinoa a couple times a week and I’ll put some frozen veggies in the tray to steam and everything turns out perfectly each time! It’s also on the larger side, so counter space could be a consideration if that matters to you. Overall, it’s a solid choice for effortless, foolproof grain cooking!

Grain and Rice Cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I do like the way it makes rice. I tried to cook pre-soaked beans and it kept telling me I had too many beans in the pot; it was about half full, so I didn't like that and ended up cooking them in another pot. I haven't tried the other grains yet.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Some issues
on December 24, 2024
Posted by: LindsG17
I like the ease of this product. But the rice doesn’t always turn out how I expect it. The the black surface of the pot is already coming off and leaving black specs throughout the rice. We only use wood utensils on this product and only hand wash. I haven’t been able to find any replacements for the pot either. I don’t feel comfortable serving rice to anyone now so it seems like we wasted our money since we can’t fix the issue.

Love this thing!

I’ve had this cooker for a few months now. I LOVE this thing! I’ve tried so many methods to have steel cut oatmeal ready first thing in the morning and nothing worked really well until this. I set it the night before and my oatmeal is ready when I get up. Then I re-set it to have rice for dinner. Honestly one of my best purchases.

Touchscreen is responsive and so many options!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this KitchenAid rice cooker. I’ve been looking in to getting a new one after my trusty rice cooker stopped working and this one is by far the best one I’ve seen. Its touch screen is easy to navigate and responsive. The black body is sleek and resistant to fingerprints and the layout of the options are easy to to figure out. You can cook beans, grains, rice and steam vegetables. It works like a dream. Fill the pot with your food of choice, add water in the separate reservoir and cook. I love how easy it is to clean too. And the nonstick pot is truly nonstick. Can’t wait to try all the features!!!
