It's a novel ideal and works well at removing air for freshness, with a nice click and indicator when you've reach necessary air extraction. But it takes a lot of back and forth twisting to remove the air and as the jar becomes emptier it requires even more twisting to remove the air. The slippery lid should have some knurling on perimeter because it is slippery and hard to hold while twisting back and forth to pump out the air. If you have small hands it could be a real problem to hold it.
Best airtight canisters I’ve ever bought. Really great quality. Sleek design. Although they are a bit expensive, they are worth it. Wirecutter should review tgese. Love them.
Works well. However, if you press on the cap too hard, the rubber gasket can get a little cramped up and unseated. Not sure how I’d fix it, but worth mentioning. Coffee is noticeably fresher
They look great and the twist action is easy to get done. My only complaint is that the glass feels very very thin, almost cheap like a .99C store dish. It’s Thin enough that I tell my self to slow my hands down so I don’t accidentally bump the glass against something and break it. I wish I would have got the metal and black coated canisters :(
I love the canister. It seals amazingly well. I have two nits: 1) it doesn't come with a scoop or a place to mount a scoop on the outside of the cannister, and 2) it takes about 30 lid twists to vacuum out enough air to seal it.
