A classy, elegant, practical device

I'm critical and hard to please, yet as a coffee lover I am impressed with this aesthetically (it's lovely!) and practically (it couldn't be more simple and it simply works!).
As a gadget person I'm impressed how much behind-the-scenes design and craftmanship obviously went into this.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works very well. The brainless, hands-off ELECTRIC vacuum function is super awesome. It does feel like an unnecessary luxury and is quite expensive for what it does. We were able to justify it based on how much money we spend on quality coffee, and how much we've been saving by not getting coffee out. Buy once. Cry once, definitely applies here. If the manual version were not so cumbersome, requiring so many twists we would've gone with that version instead. Couple small gripes: 1. We weigh our beans each morning in a smaller container. It's hard to pour from the large lip of the Fellow. I wish there were some sort of spout that could still work with the lid sealing properly. 2. We always feel like we're going to break it. It feels delicate. We think it's because the lid is so thick and heavy and the glass is so thick. It feels top heavy. It also slides around all over our granite counters, and has the extra weight of the lid. We wish it came with a rubber pad stuck on the bottom which we may add ourselves. Not that we want to invest even more money into this!

I really like these canisters. I like to have a lot of different coffee on hand, but that means that they can go a bit stale before I get to the bottom of the bag. These keep them locked away from the air. It's a bit of exercise to twist the lid back and forth to create the vacuum, but doable for a 70 year old and I consider it part of my morning exercise routine. They are attractive and well designed. I have only had them for a week, and hope they hold up. I did find that if you get any grounds in the ring around the top, it will loose the vacuum seal, so I always make sure to wipe if I have dribbled some grounds.

When making a purchase I am personally more concerned with the 1 year and 2 year reviews to see how the items have held up. I have only had these two canisters a few weeks. That said, the Electric Atmos seems to work. The coffee beans have been fresh and I notice that I get that fresh new coffee bean smell when I open the canister to get beans as if opening the coffee bag the first time--and that new fresh bean smell is telling. I'm happy with the purchase and I recommend everyone to get an Electric Atmos and store your coffee beans in there and keep your beans fresh.

Does not keep vacuum more than 2 days

I own two of these (1.2L) and one of them can not keep vacuum for more than 2 days. I have repeatedly checked this and every 2 days you have to seal it again! I have cheaper options that are better for what you pay. I feel its a little hit-or-miss kinda of product. I was expecting something better at this price point.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
