Excellent use of space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We selected this refrigerator due to it having three levels of storage drawers in the freezer and single shelves spanning the entire refrigerator. The support brackets on the split shelves on other models end up blocking tall items in the middle of the refrigerator, which is more of a problem than not being able to have adjacent shelves at different heights. We can fit more into this 17.6 Cu. Ft. refrigerator than in the 20 Cu. Ft. unit it replaced. We were surprised the compressor runs almost constantly, but it is quiet and hardly noticeable. It will be interesting to see if we notice any difference in our electric bill. Temperature control is excellent for both the refrigerator and freezer. Overall, very happy with this purchase.

FLEXIBLE OPTIONS! Sweet features.

There are very few products that could fit in our space - surrounded by cabinets, counter and pantry. Fits perfectly. Ice-maker and controls much easier to use than we were familiar with. The organization of 3 freezer drawers simplifies organization. Multiple pizza boxes fit! Glass interior shelves with flexible arrangements work for tall beverage containers or whatever shape "thing" you can think of to chill. Not all "counter depths" are the same, & again, this is one of the shallower profiles so it could fit nearly anyone's needs. No "deli" shelf - but I was able to find something that does fit for deli meats & cheeses. We have had for one month now & so glad this refrigerator was available. Would recommend highly and would buy again!

Poor design

No light in freezer. To access the ice make you need to open another freezer drawer. The fridge door has an awkward closing mechanism which has a tendency to not actually close.

Compact but powerful

I did extensive research and finally found this Frigidaire that met all my needs, and the ratings were very positive. I waited several months to rate it in order to get a feel for it to see if I’d too, be fully satisfied—and I am!
I was skeptical about 21st century refrigerators, as I’m not a fan of computer chips controlling all aspects of home appliances. However, this Frigidaire does not force you to accept default programming, as many modern appliances do. It’s a hybrid, so I have full control of the aspects I need, while the fridge controls the basics: thermostat, defrosting and motor. I have control of the temperature for both the top and freezer bottom, and have disengaged the ice maker because I don’t want it and it allows that.

The finish is a muted protected stainless steel which barely shows any prints or water marks, unlike other brands’ purported stainless steel finishes that glaringly display dried drops and greasy prints. This was also a major factor in my decision to choose Frigidaire.
It’s also perfect for smaller kitchens (mine is 10’ x 10’), so every millimeter counts. This model is truly counter depth and fits in the confined space of my 1988 kitchen layout.
It easily glides in and out for cleaning and its interior design also makes for easy wipes of spills and crumbs.

My husband does ask that Frigidaire reconsider the three storage units in the freezer. He
thinks it’s one too many, but I like the three compartments, so we’re split on that.

A heads up: you will not find this great Frigidaire model in any big box chain stores. It’s sold exclusively through mom-and-pop or regional retailers. That’s what gives it its quality, as big box retailers demand exclusivity and tweaking of the appliance to serve their throw-away mentality (i.e., keep the customer coming back to spend more) at the expense of quality, longevity, consumer needs and consideration.
