A balance of sound and environmental awareness

I needed to be able to listen to music, tv and be able to exercise and still be able to hear the environment around me. These open earbuds solve that issue. The sound is incredible considering the buds aren’t in your ear canal. They fit comfortably and securely on your ear. I could not be happier.

Superior sound and fit for any activity

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased these Bose open earbuds as a return to running from surgery gift for myself one week ago. I have never been so pleased with a set of earbuds in my entire running life, and I have owned Bose before. The fit for these ultra open earbuds is exceptional. Not only do they provide superior sound, being able to hear my surroundings is an outstanding safety feature. It does not even feel as I have anything in or on my ears. The earbuds do not move at all. I completed a 10K and the earbuds did not move. Holding telephone conversations using these earbuds is awesome as well.

Finally earbuds that stay put!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased my Bose Ultra Open Earbuds about a month again and it has totally changed my life. I have tried 20 different brands of earbuds and none of them would stay in place due to the structure of my ear. Bose stays in place while I hang laundry, water my plants, and work in the garden. I had almost given up on being able to enjoy a podcast or listen to music while working around the house. I love them!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been a Bose fan since 2008, when I bought my first home sound system from them and just fell in love with the quality of sound that no one else could beat until now! I bought the Ultra Open Earbuds two weeks ago and I absolutely love them! They are very comfortable to wear and I can still be aware of my surroundings while I play my favorite music. I especially like the fact that I don’t have to insert them into my ear while still getting the excellent quality of sound! As always, you have done a great job, Bose!!

Everything I've been looking for in open buds

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been looking for a good pair of open earbuds for several months. Trying to avoid "bone conducting" because the headband is much more bulky than I want to deal with, and would like something portable that I can just drop into my pocket when not in use.
I started with the Raycon Open Earbuds model RBO725, but they have an audio lag that was completely unacceptable, which I noted in reviews left on their website as well as Amazon. The audio quality was decent for the price, but I just couldn't deal with the lag, and the case was a bit bulky.
Next was a pair of Sony LinkBuds model YY2953. I love the super-compact clamshell case, and the audio quality was very good. However, despite the "open" design, it still muffled ambient sounds, making conversation difficult and reducing awareness, which was the whole purpose for getting open earbuds.
Enter the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. Yes, they come at a premium price, but they deliver everything I was looking for: full open ears, no lag, and excellent sound quality. I did see a couple reviews that criticized the microphone, but as I rarely use earbuds for phone calls, that isn't much of an issue for me, and, to be honest, I haven't even tested yet. My only quibble is the case: I tend to prefer clamshell cases rather than, well, for lack of a better term, cigarette pack style lid. This is the same style case/lid that's used by Samsung's Galaxy Buds3 and Pro, Google's Pixel Buds, and Apple's AirPods and off-brand clones, among others. Yes It's a popular case design, but I just don't care for it.
The buds themselves clip to the ear, which is an odd sensation at first, but I got used to it quickly, and then they're surprisingly comfortable. When I mute/pause my video/music, I can carry on a normal conversation as if the buds aren't even there, and I have full situational awareness, which is what I was looking for. And when I play my video/music, the sound is amazing, especially in "immersive mode."
The app is mostly good. The equalizer could use more than three bands, and it would be really nice if it would display the battery level of the case. I really appreciate that it's compatible with "Find my Device," given how expensive these things are, and I like being able to customize the name and the "shortcut" button.
Truly, the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are everything I've been looking for. The choice of colors is also a nice touch.

Great fit but got some problems.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really like the design but I find a hard time hearing phone calls and people find it difficult to hear me too they tell me there’s an echo with my voice on the other side. If it’s a malfunction of the earbuds please help me with it! Other than that the lightness the seem less fit on the ears and no fatigue on the ears is great! My speakers are all Bose I found all with quite what they supposed to be but this out I need help with the call sound.
