The worst Wyze human interface ever.

The good news. The picture is great, when you get the 4K
The bad news. This is by far your worst user interface. Now I admit, Wyze has a lot of bad UIs. But this beats them all. Here are just a few bad ideas used in the new 4K
1) Forced to have a starting way point. This can not be deleted or turned off. When you pan away from the required waypoint, the camera automatically pans back in a few seconds. This makes the camera useless for security
2) It does not work on a Mesh network. (After spending an hour trying to connect to my home network with no luck, I created a Cell phone hotspot. That worked.) I have dozens of Wyze cameras, and they all work, but not this one.
3) No recording control. You can not set how long you want the recording or how long you want the cool-down period. This is hard-wired.
4) Detection sensitivity: If (like in my garden) I do not want ANYTHING to create an event, the sensitivity only goes down to 1. If a spider lands on the camera, I get hours of events. PLEASE let your user turn this off. (BTW, all Wyze cameras suffer from this bug)
5) You can select 4K, but as soon as you leave live view, it goes back to Auto.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I don't like the quality of the output and the messed up software that keeps changing all the time. Half of the picture always seems pixelated when you really want to see it. The worst is trying to figure out what the different settings will do each time the software changes. After it's finished with the beta program, it might be easier to get along with.

Ensure the Wyze App is Up to Date

Open the Wyze app and navigate to Account > About. Check if your app version matches the latest version listed on our Release Notes & Firmware page. If outdated, update the app via your device's app store. Check the Camera's Firmware

Go to Account > Firmware Update in the Wyze app. If an update is available for the camera, proceed with updating it. Verify Wi-Fi Network Functionality

Ensure your Wi-Fi network is functioning properly. Wyze Cam Pan v4 supports both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi networks. Test Wi-Fi Signal Strength

In the Wyze app, go to the camera’s Settings > Device Info > Signal Strength. If the signal strength shows 2 bars or less, try moving the camera closer to the router. Switch Between Wi-Fi and Mobile Data

Temporarily switch to mobile data to see if the issue is related to your Wi-Fi network. Adjust Live Stream Resolution

Lower the resolution in the Wyze app to reduce bandwidth usage. Reboot Your Router

Restart your router to refresh the network connection. Power Cycle the Camera

Unplug the camera from its power source for 5-10 seconds, then plug it back in. Factory Reset the Camera

Remove any microSD card from the camera. With the camera powered on, press and hold the setup button on the bottom of the camera for 10-20 seconds until the status light turns solid red. Once the light starts flashing red, set up the camera as new. If the issue persists after trying these steps, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team for further assistance. Good camera, buggy positioning.

This unit has a few new features over the V3. Unfortunately, it seems to "get lost" and will end up pointing at the sky (ours is invert mounted). After a fresh "motor calibration" the unit is fine. It is holding it's presets fine just something buggy in the position sensors. Hopefully there will be a firmware fix soon.

The camera is sharp and great. The software needs a lot of work to allow for those in the Wyze ecosystem to use it in tandem with other cameras. The waypoints do not work accurately on a repeated basis.

I’ve owned every single camera by Wyze, and I think this is the worst one by far. I was excited for the 4k option but there are more negatives than positives. First the way point only option is the dumbest feature I’ve ever seen in a pan can camera. Why must it always go to a certain point instead of where I left off? Also the camera lags. I’m a gigabit internet so I’m pretty sure it’s not my internet connection. I have two other 2.5k Wyze cams and they don’t have the same issue. I would say skip this and just purchase the regular 2.5k cam.

The Wyze Cam Pan v4 is designed to return to its Home Waypoint or a set Detection Zone after 15 seconds of being idle. If this behavior is causing inconvenience, you can try the following: Disable the Detection Zone: Go to the camera’s settings in the Wyze app. Tap Detection Settings > Detection Zone. Toggle off Detection Zone. Adjust Waypoints: Under the camera’s live stream, swipe left/right on the toolbar to find Pan Control. Tap the pencil icon to edit existing Waypoints. Remove and re-add Waypoints one at a time, testing between each adjustment. Note: The Home Waypoint cannot be deleted, but can be updated to a new position. Lagging Issue
While your internet connection seems strong, the lag could be related to the camera’s firmware. Please ensure your Wyze Cam Pan v4 is running the latest firmware: Open the Wyze app and go to the Account tab. Select Firmware Update to check for any available updates.
