Great images but battery charge duration is poor

I purchased the MyQ battery powered outdoor camera and while the images and detection capability is good, the battery charge is only lasting <2 weeks and I expected it to last >1 month. Since it is intended to be a security camera I installed it high on a wall so it requires a ladder to access it. I was willing to retrieve it once a month for charging but every week and a half is a bit much.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed that my 60-pound dog doesn’t show up unless he’s with a human. He lays in our front yard (and walks to and fro) but doesn’t get photographed/videoed if it’s just him. I would like to keep an eye on him. Other than that, if a big Fed-Ex or UPS truck comes, it gets it. Records people too.

The Smart Battery Camera uses a motion sensor to detect activity. For the best performance, we recommend mounting the camera 7 to 10 feet above the ground and angling it downward, as this positioning helps the sensor detect motion more accurately. You can also adjust the motion sensitivity settings within the app. Lower sensitivity settings may help extend battery life, while higher settings can increase detection responsiveness. The camera will begin recording when motion is detected and stop once motion has ended.
A strong and stable Wi-Fi connection is also important for reliable camera performance. If the Wi-Fi signal at the camera's location is weak or inconsistent, you may experience delays or reduced motion detection performance. Ensuring the camera has a strong network connection can help improve overall functionality.
Additionally, please verify that Animal Detection, Motion Detection, and Motion Recording are enabled in the app settings. We also recommend creating and enabling Motion Detection notifications to ensure you receive alerts when activity is detected.

I bought the battery-powered outdoor camera with the solar panel to see if it held a charge and if it was worth the purchase. I will be buying two more soon. The solar panel has kept a full charge the entire time. About two weeks installed. Clearview, I love the light. Definitely recommend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This MyQCamera has a clear display and resolution. It is an outdoor camera, but I use it indoors. The battery life is alright. It doesn’t last that long before charging. It lasted maybe less than 3 months before it need a charge. I wish that it has the compatible to use with Google assistant. Installing is pretty good easy. Durability was good.
