Excellent product very nice result

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Swann MaxRanger 4K Mini 2-camera system and honestly, I’m really impressed. Setup was super simple — took me less than 30 minutes to get everything up and running. The cameras are nice and compact, but the 4K video quality is incredibly sharp, even at night motion detection the colour night vision is a standout feature — it’s clearer than I expected and helps me easily make out faces and details.

Great for the DIY installer.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the cameras installed for a week now and I have to say the quality is pretty good. The installation and connectivity onto the app was simple and took no longer than a couple of minutes. The user interface is easy to use and navigate. Night vision and motion detection are good. I have noticed in the past day or two one of the cameras keeps dropping but i think it might be user error more than a fault/flaw in the product. Overall pretty happy.

Great scalable system with good features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great security system. I found it easy to install, and I like the no subscription requirement. They hold a charge for a long time too. They have a great feature where it gives detailed descriptions via notifications whenever someone comes in vicinity by accurately describing the characteristics of that person too!

Simple and clear cameras!

Great security cameras

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Already a loyal Swann customer and have been using their cameras for years and currently using them and we we’re looking to upgrade and get some extra cameras so this came at the perfect time and we absolutely love that they are wireless because our current ones are wired and obviously these are a lot more convenient to install. Installation is super easy. They come with mounts. They come with batteries that lost a very long time hopefully. Really easy to just unscrew off the mount, charge and put back and really happy that you can just directly wire this to the TV if you don’t want to use the app. Storage is also expendable if that’s something you are looking for.

This gets the job done!

- A fraction of the price of an equivalent hardwired security system especially when you include installations costs
- Relatively quick and easy to set up. Just like setting up a normal NVR system + mobile app like many other smart home systems
- Great user experience with easy to navigate settings such as motion detection sensitivity, push notifications, detection zones, etc. Many hardwired security camera systems requires complex navigations just to adjust these simple settings. You’d be surprised how difficult and hidden away some of these settings are for other security cameras out there.
- Contains important stats such as battery %, connection strength that can be used to troubleshoot any potential connection issues
- No immediate range issues for my two cameras placed around my 650m2 block
- No false alarms from windy days due to moving trees and bushes. Huge upgrade for me from those basic motion detection systems where they’d trigger a notification just because a tree was moving
- No monthly fees!

Cons
- Battery operated of course, so it needs to be recharged every couple of months, depending frequency of motion detections. I found that I couldn’t place these cameras too out of reach as I would need to fetch these back to recharge them.
- Some additional settings appear to be on the NVR system itself and not the app which is odd. I would expect all settings/features to be available on both the NVR and mobile app.
- Not integrated with Apple HomeKit, SmartThings, etc. Would be a much better experience if I could view my live feed through one out of the box app on my iPhone without needing a separate app.
- Some stutter/lag from time to time with video playback, especially when away from home still.
- By extension, I’ve noticed some audio not being in sync with the video sometimes
- Appears to be an unused battery backup slot that comes with the base. Wish it included this since my preliminary research shows this could potentially be used to power the base and its connections in the event of a power outage which is very useful when you need it (although this case is quite rare so I can see why they would omit this).

Overall, I’m satisfied with this product in being able to provide many high-end features that would cost a fortune or requires a monthly subscription fee. Feature such as True Detect, Night2Day and sensor spotlights and sirens would be locked away to higher end security camera systems, but this product has it all for a fraction of the price. Of course at this price point I can see features such as solar charging (one that is included) would be nice to haves as well but as a bare minimum security system to detect when a package is delivered or who went into your property, this does the job.
Some downsides that I mentioned earlier are not dealbreakers by any means with exceptions to needing to charge the cameras from time to time.
I did notice some stutter/lag and some audio sync issues from time to time when viewing the live feed but I haven’t delved into this issue fully since the motion detection notification and equivalent recordings that gets stored gets the job done 99% of the time anyway.

I would hope that most of these cons could be addressed fully or made available in another iteration of this product in the future perhaps.
