Noisey fridge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Noisier than our last one which only lasted eight years! Water dispenser is hard to engage and makes a terrible noise when it is released. Small but we had to have counter depth. Not sure about the variable speed compressor that reduced speed or cuts off when door opens as makes me wonder if this fridge will last less than the last one.

Good but not great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kitchen Aid is noisier than the Maytag it replaced. Ice maker is louder than expected. It has several nice features to include an air filter (which didn’t come with it so It will have to be purchased), and a pre-measured fill on the water dispenser. Counter depth is tight on interior space, but that’s to be expected. Overall quality is nicer than Whirlpool model and due to Labor Day sales we got it for the same price as the Whirlpool model normally costs.

An Overall Good Refrigerator

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this a month ago and we're content. We wanted a counter depth appliance and this unit checks that box. The side-by-side doors offers convenient access to both cold and frozen foods without having to bend over to pull out some drawer. The storage capacity is less than similarly priced units due to the counter-depth profile. The unit has a water filter/ice maker in the left door. It has its own filter which is unnecessary in our case since it's connected to our reverse osmosis system. Food, especially vegetables, can freeze if placed on the top shelf. The manual points this out but who reads the manual before buying? It's an overall good fridge but there are better options out there if you're not too concerned about the counter-depth feature.

Too Much Plastic, Too Little Space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Too much plastic, too little space. I’d looked at side-by-side for several years. Initially this KitchenAid side-by-side looked modern, sleek with some eye catching features like the automatic dimming interior lights. It seemed to be the right refrigerator for me. But reality is different than a look in a store. Some of the drawers are only half drawers. The interior main shelves can’t be adjusted & neither the refrigerator nor freezer have enough storage for single person. Lastly it seems to have a sleek modern look but all those pieces are not a nice metal but coded plastic. Disappointed in KitchenAid for the lack of substantial interior materials. I’m afraid it’s a fail.
