1st trip impressions:
Be careful if you check the bag in its expanded form - I carry on when going, but often check a bag when coming home if it's full and heavy with new acquisitions. The danger is that the zipper is exposed when expanded, and on its maiden voyage the teeth of the zipper were damaged. I can still kind of close it but I foresee problems ahead. The lesson I learned is to pack the bag in it's expanded form and then squish it down to compress it and zip up the expandable section. This worked really well even when the bag was really packed out. I never needed the elastic cords to hold the contents because of this, but if you needed to open the bag while vertical I can see where the cords would be useful.
Since I always fly with a personal item, I use the exterior top pocket to hold my liquid toiletries bag where if I need to I can retrieve it, plus things like gloves and a hat which I might need to quickly grab.
I don't travel with a laptop, only a tablet, so I may cut out the security flap features of the front pocket like another reviewer did. I did use the laptop compartment to stow papers and flat items that I didn't need access to.
I didn't think I would but ended up enjoying the see-through small pockets to keep bits and bobs like locks, s-hooks, laundry supplies, packable tote bags, shoe covers - things I don't need in my personal item but are nice to have separate storage for.
(FYI the personal item I use right now is the Patagonia Micro MLC, and the luggage pass-thru fits over the PD Roller handle pretty easily with a bit of jiggling.)
The bag is heavier than my hardsided carry-on, but I have grown to hate the room those bags need to open clam-shell style and the restricted packing space, so the drawbridge opening is a game changer for me. Even fully loaded, I didn't have any problem carrying it for short distances by hand or putting in in an overhead compartment. The four handles really help maneuverability.
Minor niggles: I wish they'd used zippers that have a hole for a cable lock. Also, the Hinge Creak is real and I wish they put the fix on the product page - I'm having trouble finding it.

This bag is ART. It is precision engineering pared with graceful aesthetics, and I’m obsessed with it. Touching and using the bag creates joy…what else can you ask for? It spins live a dancer, light and nimble. The layout is structured to hold everything you want, just where you want and can access it. It’s a travel dream, for short trips and for travel around town.

Carry on

All good except it would help if at the top in the middle I would have two hooks. It has hooks but at the end. It also would help if on the sides there could be water and cell phone holders, soft I guess so the size remains the same when water/cell are taken out

Fantastic luggage for two week vacation to Asia

I was late-ish to the Kickstarter and pledged the full price Roller Pro in Sage. Since I pledged the full price, I received my Roller Pro right away and in time for my two week vacation to Taiwan and Japan. The new luggage worked like a dream during my vacation.
On my way there, I was able to stow a laptop in the front, put a backpack in the main compartment, pack clothes, and take advantage of the various zippered inner pockets to store smaller items and currency. Also, I stored camera equipment in a small Camera Cube. It was great to have only have a single carry-on to start my vacation.
On the way back home, I expanded the roller to fit the various duty-free goodies I purchased during vacation in Taipei and Tokyo, and I used my backpack to store my laptop, making it two carry-ons on my way home. I loved the flexibility of the Roller Pro and was happy to have the capacity to bring back valuables using carry-ons.

Bought a few months ago and received te Roller Pro last week: Beautifull designed, well thought-out, practical and applicatie to move camera gear safely as wel as other luggage. It feels solid and my stuff is wel protected, and easy to move and remove, that’s what I wanted.

Thoughtfully Designed Roller

All of my previous rollers have fallen into the realm of being generally fine and they did the job I needed them for, but I always felt like I needed to carry a second bag for other travel essentials.
While this bag isn't perfect it is probably the most functional roller I've ever owned with many thoughtfully designed features that answer some of my common gripes with past rollers. This is the first time I've felt like I could truly travel with just one bag to store both clothes and common travel essentials (both tech and non-tech).
The wheels do glide along effortlessly so it's real easy to navigate through a crowded space. I was wondering how sturdy the thinner handle would feel, but it feels rock solid while you're driving / rolling the bag along with you. It's weird to say but one of the best handling rollers I've had.
Outside of that the storage feels spacious and generous enough for my needs between clothes, tech, travel essentials, and room for extra purchases if I need it.
While pricey it's an investment I think that is worth it for a bag that I'll have for a very long time. *fingers crossed*

you know when a product exceeds your expectations and delivers on all the features from the marketing video? this is what. it's *chefs kiss*. I just took it on its first trip and it was an actual delight to use. I'm obsessed, I'm in love, and I will never use another suitcase.
