Simply Amazing! Best Roller on the Market!

I backed this on Kickstarter and was among the first to get my hands on it. I've been a longtime fan of Peak Design; I've owned their backpacks, straps, packing cubes, pouches… you name it. This roller is no exception to their high standards. It’s thoughtfully designed and built with the same premium quality I’ve come to expect from the brand.
I honestly don’t know how I lived so long with a traditional clamshell-style suitcase. The way this one opens is a game changer. No more trying to figure out which side to pack what, or dealing with bulky items that don’t quite fit either side. With one large compartment, packing is straightforward. It just works.
My only minor complaint is the drawbridge system. The hooks that hold the tension strings can sometimes get in the way when opening the roller, which occasionally causes the zipper to snag. Similarly, when closing, the strings often end up on the outside and need to be manually tucked in to avoid catching in the zipper. It’s a small annoyance, but worth noting.
Overall, I can’t recommend the Roller Pro enough. After just one trip with it, my wife finally understood why I spent so much on the Roller Pro.

Experience Commaraderie of Peak satisfaction

At PDX waiting to board a flight, a man seated to my right nudged his wife - and referring to my Everyday 20L said, "He has your backpack." Bound for an African safari, hers' was fully loaded with apparel fastened neatly with the strapping system. Her attention passed swiftly to my RollerPro beneath the Everyday backpack: "How do you lite your RollerPro?" She was enthusiastically conversant with the features. talked nonstop about the bag, and reached to feel the texture and the waterproof zippers. She caressed it much as she would a new grandchild.
I won't belabor the features of the bag. This was my Carry-On's maiden flight. The hidden spaces for valuables and cash, access to wallet, credentials and computer (not to mention the full interior) is unparalleled. It is the perfect companion for my 20 or 45L backpack and 65L duffelpack. Deplaning in SFO I recalled prior conversations over our Peak gear with other travelers throughout Asia. This experience of Peak aficionados transcends product satisfaction and loyalty.
This day I had a checked Travelpro rollerbag loaded with stuff for my daughter (the reputed choice in bags of flight crews). That bag's rollers stuck in the elevator gap at SFO. That was a struggle; not the RollerPro with backpack riding on the handle. The Peak RollerPro glided smoothing with ease.
It is a joy to pack, carry and be seen with! Plus -- there seem to be quite a few satisfied Peak family members willing to strike up a friendship wherever strangers abound.

Useless if you plan to travel by plane
on December 12, 2025

I was seduced by all the features presented in the campaign and I found them great. But I was shocked by the weight when received it. It’s almost 4 kg + 1kg insert for photography equipment. The majority of airlines only allow 8kg, so, you ve got only 3kg left to put your camera, lenses, laptop, etc etc. Impossible! It makes it totally useless for traveling. It looks good though if you don’t count on it for traveling by plane. Except the poor quality noise when you open it… I’m so much disappointed with this expensive purchase.

Needs 2 roller blade wheels for serious travel.

IMO Design is not quite there - it's the spinner wheels that prevent me from buying.
We currently use Osprey Ozone which has 2 wheels, roller-blade type. We have traveled to many cities, hill towns and villages in Tuscany, Norway, Germany, Spain, etc. and all those broken pavements, gravel paths, stone cobbles, curbs and steps don't stop our bags. Spinners are great for smooth pavements and airports, but - IMHO - spinners do not cut it in many, many places in Europe. To me, in the 2-wheel mode, the wheels are just too small and light for normal use in those locations. I have seen people carrying their spinner luggage in their arms across rough pavements. I have a nice photo of a spinner wheel ripped off and lying on the pavement in Bergen. I really think 2 wheels are the best.
Don't get me wrong, spinners look sexy - marketing videos of people effortlessly spinning them 360 or gliding along in the airport. Maybe great for road warriors, business people who spend a great deal of time in airports, but I don't travel to spend my time in airports. Yes, we used to do backpacks until a few years ago; but approaching 75 we need wheels, and sturdy wheels that will hold up in the places we go.
Given how the bag opens, with the solid base, this might be a useful mod. So PD, how about the Adventure version of this luggage?

5 stars AFTER I did a bunch of cutting & removin'

I bought this on kickstarter, at first I did not like it and thought it was too heavy and over engineered. I then cut out the floppy mag cover, + cut out the opposite mag fabric on the front panel. (Also who keeps a laptop in a roller bag and not a personal item/backpack?) -> So I cut out 1 side + excess foam for the front laptop pocket and now made it a lighter single panel pocket with more room. I then removed the heavy pointless hinges. also the clip for the roll down pocket kept coming undone and doesn't allow for a tight roll. so I removed that and just used an old velcro cable tie - works perfect. All in all I removed more than 0.5lb of useless stuff, and now the bag is WAY more functional and holds even more, and weighs even less. I love it 10/10 would recommend

Rolls Well but Quality Issues
on November 19, 2025

Huge fan of Peak Design products, but this is not the bag you’re searching for.
Quality issues lead to very loud unfixable hinge noise and a handle that wiggles. The design does not save enough space as a benefit to offset these issues for a premium priced bag. You also lose packing space due to all the extra layers of material on both sides of the top lid.
I will say it rolls really easily and the stiff one piece handle is nice except for the wiggle.

GAME CHANGING! Just buy it already.

My first thoughts. "It's luggage, how much better can it be?" After using it for a weekend. GAME CHANGING! I love that it opens up. I felt like I could fit so much more. It didn't have to be half the size of the luggage or stacked in half sizes; it could all be in one. Flippin' game changing!
Heading home, packing like it doesn't matter, cool. Just cram it into one big space. So much easier. Plus, if you need something, you don't have to remember which side it is on; it's just in the luggage.
Double plus, it's easy to get to because the lid opens up nice and wide. So simple, so amazing.
On and it looks fantastic and rolls nicely. Just buy it already, you will love it.
