Good instructions, easy to assemble and well made!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first experience with a self cleaning litter box was a success! Well packaged, clear and simple instructions, super easy to assemble and well made. Only one of my cats has been brave enough to use, but in time I think they all will warm up to it. Only issue is that my cat kicks litter in the corner a lot, which has caused a sensor error. However, it's very easy to follow the instructions and correct the problem. Two thumbs up!

Convenient, Low-Maintenance Litter Box That Truly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the PetSafe ScoopFree Crystal Plus Self-Cleaning Litter Box, and I have to say I’m really impressed. Setup was easy, and I love that I don’t have to scoop every day anymore. The crystal litter does a great job keeping odors down, and the indicator light makes it simple to know when to change the tray.
My cat adjusted to it quickly, and it’s been so much more convenient than a regular litter box. Even though I got it at no cost, I’d honestly consider buying another one in the future because of how much time and hassle it saves. Definitely a solid choice for anyone looking for a low-maintenance litter box.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a beast of a litter box. It's VERY impressive, and mostly a smart design, and pretty durable for what it is. This box will be the perfect addition for some people, but it didn't work for me, and I'll go into why.
I love the packaging! It's all very secure which is important for an electronic like this. And it's not difficult to open. The instructions are easy to read. Though when your follow the QR code it just takes you to more of the instructions, and I think if it took you to a set-up video would be very nice.
I put this together, it's not too hard to figure out, though the waste trap falls off very easily if you tilt the box; there's a large gap where the trap connects to the top.
Once put together, I looked for where I could put it, and this is where the problem lies: this box needs plugged in at all times. It didn't specify that on the box, exactly, and I had thought it used a rechargeable battery. I usually keep the litter box in the bathroom and none of our bathrooms have outlets. None of our bathrooms have room for this box either, it's as wide as our bathtub. So, I looked around and found a spot by our side door, which opens into our dining room. Not ideal, but it'll work for now.
The cord is 10' long, which should be fine if you have an outlet on every wall.
While arranging it, I noticed that this letter box is a static dust magnet. Every little hair or piece of dust clings to it. So you have to wipe it off frequently.

I normally use a clumping crystal litter that tells me the urine health of my pet. I'm surprised this litter does not. The grains are very large, not a problem, just noticeable. When I usually clean a litter box, I move the entire litter box to do so, either outside or closer to the yeah can. On trying to move this litter box, it sort of fell apart and also spilled litter.
My cat didn't really want to use this box. But she came around after I temporarily put her usual box inside it.
The raking mechanism works very well. It slid through the litter without any problem, and it kept the nose level much lower than I anticipated. The spaces are a little larger though, so very small pieces of poo didn't get caught. The box waits 20 minutes to run the rake and it takes about 1 minute for it to fully cycle. I do like that you can push the button to make it clean immediately. The box didn't smell much, I'll give it that. But because it's a static trap I was wiping it down a lot.

Now, trying to clean it. Maintenance on this is where I have to lower my rating for many reasons. Trying to lift the top half as instructed, the trap fell off again and the rake, which lifts up and over the edge of the box slightly, dropped poopy litter on the door. Just a little, but still. It's also so smooth that even with the one handle I found it difficult to grip and hold onto. I find the entire method of lifting one end of the box cumbersome: it's heavy, it spills some litter, it doesn't sit upright on it's end very easily, and putting it down anywhere seems unsanitary (poop will cling to the underside, which had many nooks and crannies). I think a much better design would be if the tray of litter could slide out.
But once I got the tray out, it covers itself easily. The box is not super durable and I feel like the litter could really fall out of it if you stumble. A problem I have here is that I don't have a single trash can that this tray fits into. Like the box, the tray is pretty large. I had to wrap it in it's own separate bag and sort of crush it in half, which isn't pleasant.
Overall: it's impressive and works for some. Perhaps for people who need to leave their cat for a few days, in a large house with large trash cans. But for a family who works from home in their normal 1,600sqft house, who cleans 1 small litter box a day, it's unwieldy and cumbersome, hard to clean and difficult to find a good spot. I also take issue with being unable to wash the entire thing. A better design choice would allow it get thoroughly washed with soap and water, especially for the rake or for instances in which the cat overshoots.
So, it just didn't really work for me. It did everything it says it will do! And is a great machine. But for my case, I gotta say this is a case of Keep It Simple.

In love with this cat box

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I tell you this is the coolest yet most convenient cat box I have ever owned. I absolutely love it! It’s a little pricey for the refills but works great and u don’t have to touch it until it lets you know it’s full weeks after turning it on. It does have a sound that you can hear, but not enough to bother me, but it definitely gets the cats attention when it starts working. They like to watch it do its thing. I recommend this to anyone with more than one cat because it saves you the hassle of constantly scooping.

Awful a mess

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn’t use the litter they gave so that could be part of the reason, but I hated this. It didn’t trap the smell at all because the latch door is just a slight lifting thing.
The rake became clumpy and the whole litter box is sitting on top of basically a cardboard box.
I hate it!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this litter box for my two adult cats. It cleans effectively and quickly after they use it! Its easy to change the litter out as well. Only downside is that it can be a bit loud when cleaning, but it’s worth it to not have to scoop!!
