Dries quickly, but loud.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this dryer about a month. It dries quickly compared to my old one. It's loud, though. I have to close the laundry room door. Also, I noticed that not very much lint is on the screen. I'm not sure if that's good or bad?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m unhappy with the check Vent light being on with every dayer load since it’s been professionally installed! Your telling us since day one to call a repair person a day after getting a NEW Appliance is unacceptable!

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We regret that you are having these concerns with your Dryer. The "Check Vent" indicator (or AF error code) signals restricted airflow, a critical safety and performance issue, active only during Automatic Cycles.
How it Works: The dryer senses airflow at the start of an automatic cycle. If restricted airflow or a blocked vent is detected, the "Check Vent" light illuminates and remains on until the cycle ends, the Power button is touched, or the door is opened. The light will persist in subsequent cycles until the root cause is fixed. Restricted airflow causes long dry times, excessive energy use, and a potential fire hazard.
Troubleshooting Steps: Clear the Display Code: Touch any key if an AF code is on the screen. Clean the Lint Screen: Clean the screen before every load, ensuring no residue buildup. Inspect Behind the Dryer: Pull the dryer out. Check that the flexible vent is not crushed, kinked, or bent and is free of lint. Check External Exhaust: Run a heated cycle. Go outside and verify the airflow from the vent cap is strong (like a hair dryer on high). If weak, the entire system is clogged. Clean all lint and ensure the exhaust flaps open fully. Review Installation: Consult the Installation Instructions. Confirm the vent system's length and number of elbows are within the manufacturer's maximum recommendations. Final Test/Professional Help: If the message persists, run a Timed Dry cycle. If the issue remains, contact a qualified venting specialist or HVAC professional for a thorough cleaning. A specialized dryer vent test kit (part #W11224254) is available for accurate diagnostic testing of vent restrictions. To order, contact Customer Service. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are very pleased with our new dryer. Clothes come out looking great and, for the most part, ready to wear. Would recommend to a potential buyer.

Dread the Call Center

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this and matching washer two weeks ago. They both work well. I had done research into options and had long been a Whirlpool customer, so Whirlpool was preferred. We also like it that it was at least assembled in the US, even no longer made in Benton Harbor. But there was frustration in trying to get the owner's manual for the washer. The dryer came with one but the washer only had the quick start guide. Yes, it is available online but both on-line and the quick start guide said we could ask for one. So we tried and ran into your frustrating call center, with menus that didn't match our question, long hold times, disconnects on several attempts, and finally, when we did get a human being, getting told you no longer send manual but she could send specified pages. Hmm, we don't have one so what pages? Then in the middle of that call, we got cut off, and I emphatically voiced my opinion that I would not buy Whirlpool again. Fortunately, your human agent sent an email with the manual and I was able to print out the pages in English I needed. I still would have preferred a copy come with the washer. We realize we may be a diminishing breed, but we feel you should acknowledge we still exist and make it easier to get a manual, and definitely make ones ability to call you for help easier. Frankly, I dread what may happen if we need repairs in the future. At least the products seem to work at this time.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had the dryer for just over a month. It does a phenomenal job, my clothes are dry - not hot - fluffy-not wrinkled. The dryer is quiet and fairly quick. Very pleased

Dryer seems good, but installation a real hassle

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Used dryer five times and each time the check vent light came on. Venting had been professionally clean prior, with new tube installed. The installers came back 4 times and said it was fine (it was not!!). Whirlpool sent a vent test, a flimsy piece of cheap plastic requiring you to have arms as long as a basketball player to install! Whirlpool do better!!! The installer said it was venting correctly, while I kept insisting problem was the three bends the vent tube took instead of two. Finally installer agreed to fix, and no more "Check Vent Light." Is it fixed now? Who knows? Really a hassle. Be warned. And all because I liked the way the door opened (still do) in my small room.
