Great when it works…

Since I cannot give this 2.5 stars, I was generous and gave it 3. We were gifted our first Vertuo Next machine for Christmas in 2020. It worked great until about… September/October of 2021. One morning I went to make coffee and it kept flashing an orange light. My husband called the nespresso help line, they walked him through everything possible - cleaning, descaling, etc. and ultimately sent us a new machine. Again, new machine was working great until it just wasn’t (second machine lasted around 4 months). Just this past week, we started to have the exact same issues. We tried the cleaning and descaling process on our own but, no luck. We also searched for tips online from other customers but, again, no luck. Called Nespresso again and they offered to send us another Next machine or the Plus. We opted for the plus.
We LOVE Nespresso and their coffee varieties but, if you don’t need the carafe option, I would look into another Vertuo machine.
Nespresso’s customer service is great. They are friendly, helpful, and understanding of the product. Thankfully, they offer new machines when yours stops working.

HORRIBLE MACHINE

I’ve been sent 3 vertuo next machines and they all have the same problems. I clean it weekly and descale everything 3 months but after a few months I can’t even run a pod. It will start to brew and then start blinking, I will then have to run a cleaning cycle, put the pod back in and continue to brew the coffee/espresso. It’s extremely frustrating— especially when I maintain the machine properly.

Frustrating

Made great coffee. But.......Had for 1 year and 1 week. It stopped working. Flashing red and wouldn't start, even after descaling multiple times. 1 week past the warranty meant Nes would fix it. Unfortunately they couldn't so they sent a refurbished one to us for free. Great! But after 2 months that one also stopped working. We bought a new Vertuo chrome, original version, and it's superior! Quieter, faster, easier to open and close.

Leaking water

I wanted to love this coffee maker. And a part of me does. The coffee is fantastic. But I should have trusted the reviews of this product and the complaints of it leaking water. This coffee maker leaks from the bottom of the machine where you place the place the pods. At first I thought the water leaked from the water tank. But no. No water there. Strangely, the water leaks near the front. Mine is a slow leak that occurs when the machine isn't being used. By the time I make coffee in the morning, water is everywhere. I've had to place a towl under the coffee maker just to save my counter top. This has to be an error with how the machine was made, especially if multiple people are having this problem. So buyer beware. Great coffee and also nice puddles of water over the counters.

Dont waste your time

After about a month it the light comes on but it doesn't brew. The instructions for resetting the machine don't work. It never pairs with the app. Just pure garbage!!

Great Coffee. Glitchy machine. No 14 oz capsules?

We've had this coffee maker since May 2021, and sometimes, it just won't start, then suddenly it will. It also leaks a small amount of icky brown stuff from somewhere under the machine. Another reason we bought it was because of the advertised cups to brew 14oz for our travel mugs, and they've been discontinued for quite some time. I really don't want to brew two 7.77 oz pods; one for the expense, and because you never know if it will actually brew!

Regret my “upgrade”

I had an original retro style Virtuo machine and that this was (is) a trooper—the friend I gave it to after my “upgrade” has a better machine than me. I got this this “upgrade” as a gift from my gift list for more options, cup sizes and the smaller footprint. Well, I cannot, after a few months recommend it. It is flimsy, sometimes starts, sometimes not, leaks and that’s not good with a beautiful new white countertop. The coffee it makes is cold and making something just to microwave it is terrible. I only use this periodically now and have switched back to my old Mr Coffee machine and regular grounds. We will figure out later if a different machine makes sense or maybe continue with Mr Coffee and let guests use this one since periodic use is all it can handle. I bought the pour over carafe kit but have not been able to purchase more variety than the one pour over capsule. The second type is always out of stock. Pretty disappointing overall.

Wait for the NEXT machine (its a pun)

Big Fan of the coffee and Ive been with nesspresso for years. But AVOID the vertuo next machine. Its poorly designed and WILL stop working and start leaking coffee everywhere. Even with scheduled cleaning and descaling. I am literally on my 4th machine (was trying other makers like delonghi and breville to see if they would last better; spoiler alert, they dont).
