Excellent coffee, Taking extra precautions

We purchased this unit about 3 months ago and have had no issues as of yet and the machine continues to perform extremely well. I was a bit nervous having ordered the Vertuo Next to only later read so many negative reviews. I purposely waited a few months before posting this review to make sure that it continued to perform and we weren't seeing failures like others have been reporting. That being said, we do baby our machine, more so than I think the average user would.
We make sure that our water reservoir is never empty and that we only use bottled water (5gal from the local grocery). The tap water, even filtered tap water, has a lot of contaminants that can cause premature failure of the machine. Routine cleaning around the lid where the pod is placed is absolutely required, otherwise, a ring of dried coffee will form and eventually cause leaks. Descaling on a regular basis will also help, unfortunately the instructions provided with the machine are not the clearest to follow nor is the actual procedure that user-friendly.
Overall this is actually a very nice machine, I think that with proper maintenance and clean water that this machine will last quite some time. The quality of the coffee from Nespresso and the engineering behind their machine in my opinion produce the best cup of coffee without breaking the bank.

Going on my 3rd machine

This machine has a lot of glitches, I'm going on my third machine and I'm changing to a different model.

On my 4th machine

The first machine they sent me did not even work. The 2nd machine lasted only a couple of months. The 3rd machine maybe lasted 6 months. These are defective.

Machine is Awful! Replaced 3 times.

I am now on my 3rd Vertuo next machine. All have broken within 6 months of purchase. The quality is bad at best. Nespresso is now refusing to replace the machine with a new one; rather they want to give me a refurbished machine. This is unacceptable considering the price I paid for this machine. Don't buy this product.

Love the coffee, hate the machine

I had my machine replaced after owning it for 11 months. Within a week, my replacement machine broke and they are taking it back to repair (fingers crossed this fix works). I love Nespresso coffee but this machine seems to be poorly made. I'd opt for paying for a more expensive model at this point to save yourself the frustration of weeks without coffee.

No good.

I agree with all of the negative reviews. I had mine for 6mo and had tons of issues and then the button stopped working. Mine was still under warranty so they did send a new one, but not even 3 months later it started leaking everywhere, and now the button is starting to not work just like last time. I will have to be getting something new soon. Wouldn’t recommend this one.

Such good coffee. So easy to use.

I’ve had mine for almost a year now. It is still making great coffee with no issues so far. I skip the milk frother and just warm a bit of milk in my mug and then put it on the machine. Makes an easy, foamy latte. Otherwise just general quick cleaning and it’s going strong.

Tasty coffee…faulty machine.

I’ve had this model for 13 months. Since day one I loved the taste of coffee that it makes. However, it would leaks coffee under the stand on occasion and it completely stopped working a week ago. Machine spins the capsule, but does not take water in. Of course it’s out of warranty period and I was offered to either send it in to be fixed for almost the price of the coffeemaker or get a discount on a new one. By looking at other peoples reviews, I have a feeling that these machines are not made to last.
I would recommend this to a friend!
