Nice coffee but questionable machine

I too have had issues with the Vertuo next machine. Initially it would not dispense coffee but would run a clean cycle. Then it started to flash orange on the button. After cleaning/ descaling it worked once then stopped. I repeated the descaling process. Finally, I had to troubleshoot with tech support. During this support the machine went into red mode. Another machine is being sent as they think it is the capsule reader. After reading these reviews I am nervous that this second machine will not work properly as I have been told there is only 6 months warranty on the new machine. (My original started misbehaving after 11 months and finally died after 13.5 months). I only use the machine 3-4 times a week and expel capsule after use and clean regularly, so I was surprised that it broke so quickly. I liked the coffee when it worked, and I do think tech support were helpful but there does seem to be a common trend (breaks a lot) with this machine. Fingers crossed for a reliable second machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Next is a bust

I am a longtime Nespresso lover. I had the Evoluo for many years but it stop working. We decided to get the Vertuo Next. During the 1st wk it worked great. Then the dreaded water leak began. Water accumulates in the discarded pod holder and eventually will overflows. Coffee brewed was not the full amount. In the (2) months we had the Next this problem accrued 4 times. I called customer service and as usual they were great. They offered to send me a new machine and I opted for the Vertuo Plus. Skip the Next and get the Vertuo Plus or the Evoluo.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

High quality taste and user friendly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this a month ago and had been considering buying it for several months. The taste of the coffee is fantastic and I have sampled 5-6 different blends. Having the Intensity Ratings listed is helpful so you can sample what types you prefer versus only trying one blend. I highly recommend buying the Arrecino as an add on for steamed and frothed milk, because it’s fantastic and once you try it, you will appreciate how well it actually works.
After brewing, the automatic capsule disposal is another great feature. Lift the top and the capsule is deposited in a reservoir that is easy to empty. Simply remove the unit in an easy slide off manner and deposit any used capsules into your recycling bag.
Lastly, I have to mention how flexible this is when switching between hot or cold brews. The Forte capsules make fantastic cold brews or add ice and have a great tasting iced coffee.
Lots of flexibility with this machine and a fantastic taste.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not what I expected

I've had the machine for a little over a year, primarily using it once a day and clean it regularly. 3 weeks ago I started having the machine flash red. I've descaled it twice, rinsed it countless times, thoroughly cleaned every bit of the machine inside and out... continually get the same error through the app that the machine cannot read the barcode.
Not sure what to do but it's impossible to recommend this product. The cleaning system is a pain but you can figure it out and the coffee is good when the machine works, but as you can see from the vast amount of reviews... the machine hardly works as advertised.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
