This is the third pot in this style that I have purchased, two were gifts and one was for me. I use mine daily and always enjoy it. I doubt that I could ever go back to a teapot on the stove.
My second pot of this style - last one held on for almost 12 years, but the interior started getting flaky, so I replaced. The new design is similar, but not exactly like the old one. water level gauge isn;t backlit anymore, and the pot seems to boil for some time before it auto clicks off. Still, the best instant hot water pot I have used, and at a great price point for the look and feel.
I expected more from Breville when I bought this kettle. A month short of 2 years from purchase it just stopped working mid boil. I used it ~4 times a week. Seems too expensive to get less than 2 years of use. Maybe my expectations were too high but I'd expect longer wear from a Breville product.

I had the original that lasted 12 years and it was substantially better built compared to this new one. Stainless steel is thinner therefore, makes loud cracking sound, cup measure indicator is no longer illuminated in this model and doneness indicator bell is barely loud enough to alert.

It works well, I did give it inly a 3 star rating. Since I sent a kettle in for repair, paid repair fee, got a new kettle back in exchange. Unfortunately it was not a temperature controlled like my old one.
