It says to be made of stainless steel but this is my second Breville Soft Top Kettle and after having it for only a few months, it’s already rusting. I had to replace the previous one because of this issue and now this one is rusting in the same exact spot. I will not be buying another one considering a significant price tag. Loved it otherwise, shame it’s not up to the usual Breville quality.
Rust inside kettle is disappointing. Not standing by your product is a major concern for me.

Poor Quality Switch

Sadly my THIRD Breville BKE700BSS Soft Top Pure Countertop Electric Kettle, is failing.
I purchased this third one on November 25, 2022.
Now this third kettle has the same disease as the first two. The POOR QUALITY heat-sensing auto cut-off switch is not working AGAIN.
The kettle is great when it works, but I hate it when it fails.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I bought the older model Breville Ikon, thinking it will last forever. After 5 years of use, the dark-grey, plastic support holding the water level indicator (which was behind the handle in the old model) cracked on both sides, nothing leaks so far, but it's not the most esthetic thing you expect from a close-to-hundred-dollars kettle!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a great gadget for kitchen use, I would say This is not less than a blessing for making the water hot in seconds without using other pots to make it boil. It is very efficient. We don't bother putting it away in a cupboard or drawer because it compliments our counter. This kettle has a modern design and quiet open of the lid. The best thing is that I can bring it with me while traveling or going in an RV or airbnb. It heats the water very quickly and it’s easy to use! The look of the kettle is simple and stylish. Just go and grab it!

Stainless Steel Food grade 304

I bought this kettle twice because I found it a good product. However, there is no indication anywhere this pot is made of food grade stainless steel 304 or 18/8. Can you answer this question?

Cracked Lid

This kettle has worked well for us. I like the design of it and boils quickly. However, the plastic lid has completely cracked and nothing can be done to fix it. We take excellent care of our appliances so it’s not user’s error. It’s a manufacturer defect. I’m needing to replace; however, the reviews for other kettles by Breville seem not as good either. I’m disappointed that the quality has gone down and there’s nothing to be done to fix it but to purchase another one.
