Horrible WiFi

The garage door opener and features themselves are great. However, they drop from WiFi randomly, and then fail every time I try to reconnect. I let the one go for a week because I was having so many issues, then it thankfully worked when I tried it randomly. A day later, the other opener dropped from the network and is now giving me repeated issues.
It was a pain to connect them in the first place, and now a pain to get them reconnected. It’s an issue with the openers…none of my other devices have this issue
Pros: battery backup, quiet, Stylish

Sleek Modern High Tech Garage Door Opener

I just had this opener installed professionally on two garage doors one by Dixie Door & one by ASAP Door out of Memphis. This opener is by far the quietest I've ever witnessed. I wouldn't believe it would be this quiet unless witnessed it. The design of the motor is modern , sleek and showroom quality. The techs taught me how to use the MyQ app. Simple. With a few taps on my phone I can do whatever I want with my opener. Seriously this opener is the best. I'll never go with another brand.

Nice opener. Why remove the smart control panel??

Just installed this opener to replace my B970 to get the new camera function. The opener functions similarly but I no longer have a timer to close option and have lost a major amount of my customization features due to chamberlain no longer including the smart control panel with its top of the line opener. Why would you remove a feature like this on your best opener but still include it on the Liftmaster line? This does not make sense and is going to cause people to become upset.

The best garage door opener I have ever owned

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The unpacking was fantastic. the garage door opener and all the components were in plain sight making easy to identify all parts needed. Sometimes in order to safe space companies will pack products in a way that half way in the installation parts are missing because they are hidden in corners or under carton bends. Not with this product.
The installation was easy and really well described in the instruction manual. However, the main highlight of this manual appears in the very front page. Chamberlain offers easy step-by-step interactive 3D instructions in BILT®. This is definitely a plus for some people who might find challenging to follow written instructions or may some language difficulty(ies). GREAT FEATURE!! The process installation was easy. Although it is recommended two people, I was able to use two ladders (using one of the ladders as a support) to install the garage door opener without help.
Once the garage door opener was installed, programming the garage door opener to ensure that it opened and closed properly was easy and fast.
The operation is extremely silent and smooth. I opened and closed the garage door from a room located right above the garage and I could not hear or sense any indication of the garage door opener operating.
The built-in lights are very bright and place on the front and the back of the garage door opener providing the most lighting to areas that are needed the most the garage entrance and the door accessing my house. It is worth to reiterate that the lighting is probably the best I have ever seen in a garage door opener providing enough light across my garage where I do not need to turn the garage lights on. This is probably one of the top features on this garage door opener.
I would like to mention that this garage door opener has two doors built in for wiring. I never thought about concealing the wires to make the garage look better. I have to say that I love the fact that the way the doors are built in the front and the back make this garage door opener a really good and clean looking opener.
This is the first opener that actually includes 2 car remotes (thank you for that!!).
The only thing that I would like to see improved is the opener control that goes to the wall by the house door.
In the past, Chamberlain offered openers with screens to easily program functions in the opener, as well as for displaying the time and temperature. I really love to be able to see that information in a opener control. I personally think that the wall controller is the last piece to a garage door opener that has potential to transform a garage door opener to an awesome experience (just an idea).
The camera offers a fantastic picture (broad and clear) of what is happening in my garage.
Connecting the garage door opener to the internet and adding it to the app is easy and fast.
I conclusion, this is possible the best garage door opener out there! Five Stars from a happy owner!

Great opener w/camera, but support was a challenge

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great opener with camera, though support was a challenge. My observations:
The opener itself: It's outstanding! It's probably 2/3 quieter than my old opener. The LED lights light up the whole garage area to see around you as you pull into the car and head into the house. The belt technology is so much nicer than the old bicycle chain technology of most older openers - and there's no grease everywhere - pretty clean! When I installed my old opener, I got covered in grease by the chain. It seems very heavy duty and should last a long time with no problems.
The remote controls: You have to read the very fine print (like one line in 30 pages) to discover that the new opener uses new technology (not a bad thing) that is NOT compatible with any older remotes you have around the house. Not a bad thing, but I wasted a few hours till I figured this out.
The bigger problem is that the remotes that come with this opener ONLY WORK with the newest openers, not any other older openers you may have for another door. These remotes WILL NOT work with any older openers (think purple, green, red LEARN buttons). This opener comes with two 3-button remotes, so you would think they planned for your to be able to open 2-3 garage doors with each remote - only works if all the openers are the new YELLOW learn buttons.
As you may have guessed, I have 3 doors, two with older (Green LEARN buttons) openers. The remotes that come with this opener can not work with these old openers. After losing a bunch more time figuring this out, I thought I was stuck having two remotes to open my doors. Luckily, I discovered that Chamberlain sells a different remote, model 953EV-P2, that looks identical to the two remotes that came with the new opener, EXCEPT you can program old and new remotes to any of the three buttons. Why chamberlain didn't include these remotes with the opener is mystifying. I needed two, so $52 more and I was almost set.
I also have an opener key pad on the garage to let people into the house - Yep, this old keypad doesn't work with the new opener..... sigh..... But Chamberlain sells a new keypad, 940EV-P2, that works with old and new openers. So, an additional $35 bucks and I was done.
A page in the manual (and maybe on the box) would have saved me many wasted hours and I would have been go to go about 4 days sooner.
Last item: Support - this is a new opener and the normal support people don't work with it yet - I had to call a different number. I've called the regular help desk in the past, even on my 25-year old opener and they have been wonderful to work with.
After 5 days of multiple calls, leaving a voicemail every time, no one has ever called me back.Very frustrating since my questions turned out to be pretty straightforward and a knowledgeable person could have answered my questions in short order, rather than me having to research on the web for many hours.
A couple of small things:
- The connection to Google Assistant needs some tweaks - I know it works, but I can't get it working.
- The installation instructions from BILT (very nice approach!) didn't say that when you install the belt, there are two different types of ends to the belt. YOu have you start with the right one or you lose 15 minutes while you figure it out, uninstall a couple of things and then fix it. Not a big deal, but a tweak to the install video would help.
- The connection to Google Assistant needs some tweaks - I know it works, but I can't get it working.
- The installation instructions from BILT (very nice approach!) didn't say that when you install the belt, there are two different types of ends to the belt. Nice upgrade with some issues

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Nice upgrade. Love the LED lights and the direct WiFi connectivity. But the wiring connections were a major pain. For some reason, the connector for one set of wires would not, no matter what I did, connect properly. I ended up having to do a jury-rigged splice so that I had only a single wire to fit into the connector. Really need to do something about this antiquated way of connecting wires. I'm also still disappointed that the MyQ app doesn't allow the opener to be locked (can only do so from the panel in the garage) and doesn't allow users to set a specific notification sound.

Very easy installation.
Love the BILT 3D detailed installation app. Makes installation super easy as most manuals I read are all very confusing.
Since I have an existing Chamberlain Garage Door opener installation was super easy. Plus, the BILT app made every installation step super easy.
Outstanding garage door opener. Motor is super quiet. It also features soft start and soft stop so the garage door doesnt rattle or shake during initial and end of travel.
Excellent security camera. Video image is super sharp.
Build quality is superb.
Nothing not to like. Simply the best garage door opener I have ever owned.
Highly recommended.
5 stars all day.

Great Door Opener

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Another great garage door opener from Chamberlain!! I have been using Chamberlain openers in my garage and my kids garages for a number of years now. I haven't had a single problem with any of them, and love all of the features, especially in the newer models. I have been using the MyQ features for quite awhile now, and really love them. I can monitor and operate my door openers from anywhere right from my phone. It reminds me if the door has been open for a length of time, so I never have to worry about accidentally leaving my door open.
This particular opener has some great features, which is part of the reason that I upgraded. It has WiFi built in, so it is really easy to get connected and setup. It is rated at 1 1/4HP, so it has plenty of power for most any normal garage door. It is belt drive, so it is extremely quiet when operating.
Three of the main reasons that I upgraded are the battery backup, LED lighting, and the camera. There have been times when I have come home and the power was off because of a storm. It would have been great to be able to open my garage door. Now I can. :-) The LED lighting is a huge improvement. It lights up the garage much better, and theoretically should last as long as the door opener. I wasn't sure that I would use the camera feature, but have been surprised at how handy it is. It is adjustable, so that you can point it at whatever you want to monitor. I don't really need to monitor the inside of my garage much, but it does a surprisingly good job of keeping an eye on the grandkids playing on the driveway. It even has pretty decent 2 way audio capability. I'm guessing that the more I use this feature, the more I will like it.
The opener is compatible with the Key by Amazon service, but that is not available in our area, so I haven't been able to test it out.
Installation was very typical of most garage door openers. I have installed a number of them, and this one was very easy to do. You do have to know the access information for your WiFi if you want to be able to connect it and access all of the great features that come with it.
Overall this is a very good garage door opener. It has all of the features that I was looking for, and they all work very well. I can't think of anything offhand that would make it better. I'm sure that in the future there will be some great features added, but for now, I think this is as good as you can get.
