The directions are very user friendly, easy to follow and for the most part put you at ease with the ability to complete the task. I had a few set backs since this application was for an older home that didn’t have garage beams throughout to provide the ability to adjust the support for the new Chamberlain motor. Since I was replacing an older Chamberlain unit Model 5389 with B6713T I figured it would cut my install time significantly. So I went step by step and some steps I felt slowed down the process but I wanted to see how good a digital installation manual would compare to a paper manual. I would bet with a paper manual personally could have cut an hour or more now that I have this experience off this install. I say this with strong assurance because normally I would look a couple pages ahead after every step so that I can determine if there is a more efficient way to do the steps and avoid problematic situations that are one offs due to circumstances of the actual job site, like this example. The step of securing the front rail with the locking pin first would have benefited me tremendously since I had secured the motor to the existing support bracket as per the instructions had called for. Only to find later that the motor needed to move further back about 8” due to the newer belt system being longer than the screw drive older rail system. There was no way to adjust the support bracket so I had to stop my project and head out to the Home Depot to get a 2’x4’ to create a new beam to attach the support which was needed for the new model Chamberlain unit. This step was necessary for my situation, but the order of removal the black bolts and reinstall them as the directions indicated prior to securing the front of the rail which is how I needed to do this install. Later in the directions it had me do the steps in the order I needed to complete this part of the project, which is why I’m writing this review. If this was the in order of steps, it would not have made me redo the securing the motor when it wasn’t going to work in this situation in the first place. I would have had to go and get the 2’x4’ either way, but I would not have to have had the redundancy of securing and redoing the installation on the wrong support beam.

Almost flawless linstall

the extra bolts are nice but confusing.the installation app could mention there may be extras at the concusion of that step. when sensors are blocked, i did not get warning beeps or flashes. but the door did not close. the pin that holds the straight arm to the trolley did not fit. too much paint on the trolley. i had to force it.

Instructions are in need of revision

The instructions for the steps to fish the belt through the rail need revision. I found that to fish the belt through the rail segments could not be assembled first. The rail segments needed to be lined up on the floor and the belt run through by hand and then assembled the segments.
This is due to the crimped ends of each segment requiring the smaller metal end of the belt to be fed through while segments are disconnected because the end is very close to fitting through. It was impossible to fish the belt through while the segments were connected.
