Solid Build and Sleek Design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] After my old toaster gave up at the ripe old age of 25, I decided to try the Kitchen Aid brand, I have many Kitchen Aid appliances and am happy with all of them. This toaster is just a good, heavy stainless paneling for a toaster, heating elements do not become too super bright red, yet toast well and evenly. I have my setting for one side at 2 for light toasting, and at 3 for a medium to dark brown. The settings go up to 6 on the dial so I'm sure it would satisfy those who like their toast extremely dark. The cord is heavy weight and only gets warm to the touch when unplugging, whereas my previous toaster was close to burning hot when unplugging. The cord is a good 2 feet long so you do not have to have the toaster under neath your cabinets while using since that could be a fire hazard.
The only thing I do not like about the toaster is the slots are not long enough to accept bakery breads or some packaged rye and pumpernickel breads which are wider than most typical breads and you either have to cut them in half or have the one end get curled while toasting.

I love this toaster

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works really well for different widths and weights of breads and bagels. Love having a four-slot so the sweet breads and the everything bagels don't get mixed up. Love the high -lift lever and I love having the one with metal rather than plastic sides. Accepts an aftermarket toasting rack for buns. It is true that the first slice in the morning is lighter on one side, but the texture is perfect and it evens out once the toaster is warmed up. The only design thing is that I wish the crumb trays opened to the front. It has a place of honor beside my range and I hope it does not break for a very long time.

Burns toast

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this toaster based on the brand thinking it would be a nice one, but I’m disappointed because it burns the toast on the #1 setting. I have to watch it and pop it up before the cycle ends. Same I did on my cheaper version toaster. Thought this would be different, especially because of the high price I paid for it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Loud beep when toast is done.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Looks great and makes bread toasty. It has a loud beep when it is finished toasting that is startling at first and takes some getting used to. As far as I know the beep alarm cannot be silenced. I tried to take it apart to take out the alarm but it is assembled with triangle head screws. So I ordered some triangle head bits and haven't had a chance yet to take it apart. I don't have a gigantic house to need an alarm on the toaster. I can hear when it pops up since I'm less than 10 feet away in the kitchen. Please remove the alarm or just add a silence option. Thank you.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wish it wasn’t so bulky but with that said I haven’t had a toaster that toasts my bagels soo perfectly! At setting 2 my bagels come out lightly toasty on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. Highly recommended this Toaster!!
