Could not burn toast even if you wanted

This is a very nice toaster.
Pros nice looking, 4 slice, wide mouth
Cons big footprint, takes way too long to toast, no adjustment to make it toast faster, knob to adjust longer toast time ergo making it darker also increases the time it takes.
I needed to time breakfast around toast time. I would sacrifice a possible burnt toast for a faster toasting.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor quality overall

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Poor quality - doesn't compare with prior KMT4115 model that we had that finally wore out. The new toaster that I am rating is very lightweight which indicates "cheap" cost cutting decisions. They have a lever to put toast down vs a knob that you could adjust and pop toast up if needed. The lever on this toaster is fixed in place until toasting is complete. The levers don't return consistently to the up position after toasting. What ever happened to the KitchenAid quality. I guess they got rid of the talent and knowledge so the development process has suffered.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

shade control numbers misleading or just off

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought toaster on March 12,2022. Shade control 1 burns the toast. You would expect the lightest toasted bread from shade control 1.That's not the case.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This purchase replaced our old toaster that was the same exact model. The old one that we used for 10-14 years, had lost it's toast ability on one side. of the toaster reducing it to a one-slice toaster. The new toaster has issues such as toasting too dark while on setting for light toasting and toasting unevenly on the sides of one slice of toast. We can deal with it as other new toasters tried before buying this one were far more problematic. It just seems that we must adhere to a society now that produces subpar products. Still I think....can't any company make a toaster that works properly???.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was given to me for Christmas, I have been using it 4 tp 5 times a week. Usually I love all my Kitchen Aid appliances, however, this toaster has 4 slots and on each side it toasts one side and not the other. Previously I had a Kitchen Aid toaster that lasted me 15 years, and it was perfect.
