Very disappointed in kitcheaiAid

It takes forever to toast a slice of bread. Ridiculously long, I feel my life ticking away. And the left side broke after less than two years from purchase.

We have had this toaster for a year now, and I totally recommend it. We use it multiple times every week and it toasts our bread perfectly!

Looks great, after a year and a half the toast levers won’t stay down.

Smell

Just purchased, my wife plugged in, and toasted 1 piece of bread. Toaster has gross metallic smell.. no exaggeration.. we could smell this from 40 feet away. We thought we had an electrical fire in our house. Pushed down levers and confirmed smell is coming from toaster.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
