On our 3rd one. First one the lever on one side would not come up. The second one toasted dark on one slice and none on the other side same for both double sides. Got a 3rd one still only toast on one side. Our previous Kitchen Aid toaster lasted 15 to 20 years worked great. What happened?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We haven’t had it long, but so far we are very happy with it. I wish it came with a tool to safely push stubborn crumbs so they fall to the tray.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my new toaster a month ago but it is not as strong as my old kitchenaid toaster. Even setting on number 5, muffins aren't getting enough brownish.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Poor quality - doesn't compare with prior KMT4115 model that we had that finally wore out. The new toaster that I am rating is very lightweight which indicates "cheap" cost cutting decisions. They have a lever to put toast down vs a knob that you could adjust and pop toast up if needed. The lever on this toaster is fixed in place until toasting is complete. The levers don't return consistently to the up position after toasting. What ever happened to the KitchenAid quality. I guess they got rid of the talent and knowledge so the development process has suffered.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve had this toaster for maybe 2 months now and we love it. Works great and looks good in our kitchen.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great looking toaster but not the best as far as toasting. I haven’t yet used it for bagels but for toast, we leave it on shade number 2, because anything higher seems to burn the edges. It also doesn’t toast evenly, one side looks lighter. My husband thinks it also dries out the bread, maybe because it toasts the bread slowly rather than quick? We own a kitchenaid fridge and dishwasher and we love those, so we thought this would be better.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have had this toaster before . Old one finally stopped working . Bought another “ brand name “ toaster. That only lasted a few months. Came back to KitchenAid. It actually toasts the roast…..
