Absolute shame for the money

Loved it initially, it has a strong motor and the base appears to be built solid. The honeymoon ends 1-2 years into having it. KitchenAid appliances do not last. I had the immersion blender replaced in warranty because it broke, same goes for older model of this blender where the motor mount broke, and now I'm on hold by customer service for this one as something started smoking, ruined my recipe and the entire kitchen stinks like melted plastic. For such an expensive appliance and for the name it carries, this is just unacceptable. I am using these appliances once in a blue moon and I'd like them to work. Can't imagine what would happen if I used them daily. If they don't handle this within my warranty, I will never ever buy a single KitchenAid thing in my life again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Smooth smoothies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I mainly bought this blender for smoothies and it has performed well. I’ve only ever had one issue with a large frozen piece of fruit getting wedged between the blade and the sidewall. Other than one random instance that had a quick fix, it has performed well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I made the switch from a nutribullet to this and OMG I am so glad I did. In comparison, this blender is much quieter and the smoothies come out perfect every single time. My son even commented on how much better his smoothies taste and he is the most ridiculous critic when it comes to food. The pre-set options are great. You choose the one you want and it does all the work. I was kind of bummed as I thought the blender was supposed be glass instead of plastic, but oh well, I may have misread.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this blender about a month ago, and I love it! First, I just love the color of the blender base and how lovely it looks on my countertop. I also really appreciate the weight of the base of the blender. The bottom is heavy enough to keep the blender from moving across the countertop as the blender is running (in any setting). I love the different functionalities the blender has with the increasing levels of pulse settings, the varying drink making settings, and the self-clean setting. I've made smoothies, egg bite batter, and soup in this blender, and every time the liquids are the exact consistency I want them to be. My older blender didn't come close to matching the level of this one! And, the self-clean cycle is AMAZING!!! Throw in some warm water and a little soap, set the blender to the self-clean cycle, and wah-lah, clean blender to be rinsed and dried! I would highly recommend this blender to anyone in the market for a blender!
