Great, And MFD in the West

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Too early to properly assess reliability and long-term use, however, we're very pleased (I'm tempted to use the term "we LOVE" this blender, but find it difficult to "love" an inanimate, non-living machine!). Also great that it's made in the West (includes western Europe, etc...excludes Russia) specifically, in this case, mfd in the USA.
This device blends very well, we emphasize VERY well and very quickly. Honestly, for almost half the price, it seems to blend better than our Vitamix, that cost almost twice as much as the KitchenAid. In all fairness to Vitamix, the perception of better blending may be related to a larger container on the Vitamix, requiring additional time for blending. Nonetheless, the container on this KitchenAid K400 is more than sufficient, ample capacity to make two 32-oz pureed beverages ("PBs" -- protein, frozen fruit mixtures..."smoothies"). I.e., all PBs, even using a large quantity of frozen fruit, mix and blend, again, VERY well.
Final notes, the quality on this device seems excellent, although only 3 months into use (albeit heavy use), considering that this KitchenAid was a "refurbished" unit (Fyi, many "refurbished" products simply mean those products were returned either unopened or opened packaging but unused; after magnifying-glass-close-inspection, this particular K400 appears to never have been removed from its original packaging, possibly never opened. Regardless, this KitchenAid K400 comes with the same warranty as a new K400). Oh, and the 4-star rating for "Performance" is due to brief, 3-month, heavy use, otherwise, if 5-years old with the same use and performance, that "Performance" would be 5+ Star.

Handles frozen fruit easily for smoothies

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a sturdy and well designed blender and my husband uses it for his smoothies several days a week. We wore out the first one and hurray found out it was covered by the warranty so KitchenAid sent another and provided the prepaid label for shipping the original back to them. Great customer service and great products.

Good power

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this a month ago. Love the blender.... only issue i have with it is sometimes it smells like the motor is burning up. Kinda makes you think if there is an issue with the motor. But it does the job.... makes quick work of my wife's morning frozen smoothies. Just hope this machine outlasts the warranty.
