Broken Blender

I've had this blender for over three years now and it had been working great until recently. I've primarily used it to make smoothies or simple soups. The other day, after I was done blending, I noticed small and large pieces of black plastic all throughout my smoothie and it had started to leak through the bottom of the blender jar. It appeared as though the blender had chewed up a chunk of the plastic piece in the bottom of the blender jar. Thank goodness I noticed before consuming! Similar to other reviewers, this blender works great initially but doesn't seem to hold up after a few years, which is disappointing for the price point.

Jar leaking is a major issue!

I bought this blender about 3 years ago and I am now on my second Jar. The same problem as before it started leaking at the bottom. They were good about replacing it before but I have spent 2 hours trying to connect with someone to no avail. Their Live Chat never works!!!!!! I may have to throw this out and try another brand.

Horrible smell after several months of use

I was very happy with this KitchenAid K-400 blender for the first several months. I use it to make fruit smoothies every day. But now, the smell that comes from the bottom of the blender where the blade assembly is located is horrible - I have used bleach, hydrogen peroxide, even letting baking soda sit on it for a day. The smell continues to come back. Right now, the smell resembles rotten fish - and there are no fish my house!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worst blender ever…

I never write reviews on anything but would warn anyone about buying this blender. I received blender as Christmas gift, worked for a couple weeks then the rubber bottom was stripped by the metal propeller. I also had black goo leaking out as well. This is so poorly designed, I can’t believe the blender does not some how lock into place, especially with a blender this heavy duty… customer service was great. They sent a new one however, the same thing happened again with the new blender… at this we are throwing in our cards and just buying a different brand of blender. Very disappointed in kitchen aide

Great features nice design

Worlds Best Blender

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This blender is so powerful. It even chops ice so fine that for icy shakes and slushies. I also use if to mix sauce ingredients to a perfectly smooth blend before pouring over the dish. I particularly like how easy it is to clean.
