Kitchenaid Not What It Used to Be

We received this blender for our wedding 4 years ago, and we've used it maybe a combined 10-15 times. We are now planning to throw it out before it starts a fire in our kitchen. When we run it, the motor smells like an electrical fire, and metal shavings shoot out of the motor that have rusted over time. And despite minimal usage, the warranty is expired. While it did work safely, we did enjoy it. But someone spent a lot of money on this for us, and it's now down the drain. This is our 2nd Kitchenaid product from our wedding that has had serious quality issues, so we will be looking for a different brand as a replacement.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Jar leaks - bad design - avoid

Blender gifted to me from my mom three years ago for Christmas, now on second jar, it’s leaking again, nasty brown stuff leaking into the motor, and appears to be leaking into my food. I wouldn’t trust using this, and now I’m worried about how long I’ve been consuming whatever chunks of metal and oil have come out of the jar into my food. Avoid this model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
