I had gone the cheap route and got a different brand which was a big mistake since two of them were not good. I owned a Sharp years ago and was pleased. I am so glad I decided to spend a little extra and get a new Sharp. I am very pleased with it and know it will last a long time!!!

Good basic microwave, but it sucks at popcorn! I didn’t realize this microwave was specially calibrated for popcorn until it was delivered, so it wasn’t a factor in my purchase decision. But, we do enjoy popcorn (air popped in a reusable bag, not the pre-packaged bags) and I could not get it to pop without either burning or leaving half the kernels unpopped. The silver lining is I ended up purchasing a stove top popper and the popcorn is so much better!
