I just purchased my second Sharp carousel microwave and I love it. It’s a non complicated machine and the perfect size for a dinner plate and fits nicely on my counter top. The first one I bought back in 1989 is still working fine. It is a dial timer. I use it at work every day. I have purchased three other brands for home use and all have quit working for various reasons.
I've had Sharp countertop microwave ovens for nearly 40 years. Had to replace the last one with one slightly smaller due to outside dimensions (have it on a built in shelf). Not as happy with preprogrammed buttons. I find most are useless as the quantities don't match up with my needs. The display light is very bright. I do like the gray interior. It does work well as far as getting the basic job done especially since I am familiar with changing power levels.
I like the microwave but it has a little less power than my previous one so popcorn doesn't pop completely with the Popcorn icon and my silicone popper.
This is a great sized microwave. Let’s be honest most of us use a microwave to reheat left overs, pop popcorn or defrost frozen vegetables. If that is your use, this microwave is great. I love the 1-button Express Cook that uses the 1-6 keys for 1-6 minutes. Most frozen vegetables use 5-6 minutes at 1000 watts. It is big enough to fit a standard dinner plate and small casserole.
It doesn’t sense, so for things like popcorn, potatoes, bevages, etc the pre-sets are timed and based on size. The size is easily selected by just pressing the preset button to display required amount. For the most part the timing is perfect depending your preference. The I love that clock does not require an am/pm step, much easier to set.
Some other differences that were not issues for me: it only beeps at the end of the cycle, so no repeat beeping; the inside is gray and the light is from the side, so as bright as some; the clock is easy to read and is quite bright; there is no door handle, you open by pressing the start button at the end of the cycle, I disengaged the door lock, since don’t have children.
Great microwave for the price! My old one which was a different brand but much smaller on the inside. I like the size of this and it heats up well and it's not very loud!
I needed a smaller 1 cu ft microwave rated no more than 1000 watts. This one fit the bill and the power output is excellent..Also quiet...no complaints.
