Unpractical features.

How does the light not have adaptive lighting built in? Also sunrise and sunset simulations would be a no brainer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I sent this light back because it was absolutely terrible compare to lifx ceiling light. Not only was the lifx brighter and better color saturation its also way cheaper very disappointed in these light. It was so bad I took a video of the lifx ceiling light and govee ceiling which has almost identical form factor and it clear which one is much better. It wasn't even close
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If you don’t have the goove app, you’ll have limited access and won’t have cool features. I don’t want to download another app just to have full compatibility and control over my light when I could just use Apple Home.

As far as light output goes this thing is great. Only recommendation is to be able to tie it into the TV backlight, which I think is supposed to be coming with an update but not sure. Otherwise this is a great product.
