GE Convection Microwave

I had a ge convection microwave previously and just loved it. So when my other microwave quit I knew I wanted to get another. So glad I did. It even has a built in air fryer unit. Can't wait to try it.

Bright display light

This new unit replaced a similar GE profile convection microwave unit purchased in 2007. At the time, the older unit had a soft green display. Current unit is a bright white display with no method to soften intensity of light, change color or to not show the clock at all. Besides the light, the unit works as advertised and similar to the unit it replaced.

Love the way it looks and performs. There has been a bit of a learning curve for the Convection Bake and Air Fry cooking methods, but I am having fun experimenting.

New Profile Microwave

Installed easily with the help of my handy son and an excellent YouTube video. Replaced a 15 year old Profile Microwave. Only had to drill two new holes in the upper cabinet. The existing bracket and back vent were exactly in correct places.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Crapped out

The product did very well until it crapped out after only a month. The selector dial would not bring up the options and the clock now fails to indicate the time. Also, to read the selections printed on the control panel, I must use a flashlight to illuminate the panel ... a huge design failure and a problem that I did not have with my Maytag microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great value for the features offered. Following installation instructions is important. Yes you do need an extra hand to lift the unit into place over a built in cook top.

New microwave is not worth the cost!

I had to download the instruction manual and print out 36 pages, for the price of this microwave I think it should have a least come with a manual! It took longer to air fry French fries in it than to bake them in conventional oven! The sales man said GEhad over 2000 recipes on this microwave, where are they?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
