Old dog, new tricks

I am 75 and didn't know if I would like this microwave, but everything on it is easy to figure out! Some people don't like the dial, but I do, it is much easier than punching in numbers but I sometimes forget to push it to set the numbers. My old one was just heat or reheat, I'm still learning how to use it and I'll write later about the convection and air fry options when I get to use them more.

Disappointed

I wish we had purchased a simple microwave instead of one with air fryer option. The book that came with the microwave has minimal info about use of the air fryer option! The only fresh vegetable air fryer recipe is for wedge potatoes! The potatoes were done but didn’t even have brown edges. I have guessed in air frying fresh broccoli, cauliflower etc. Will be using my oven from now on. No instruction for reheating pizza etc. I guess it just trial and error. Will just use my breville toaster oven or my regular oven. My bad and wish I had just saved the cash for this replacement purchase. I also find the most common control options are at the top of the microwave and a bit labor intensive to learn the new routine. I do love the brighter surface light and more powerful exhaust venting.

The Air Fry feature uses a heating element to raise the temperature of the air inside the oven. You can find information and instructions on using the Air Fry feature to cook different foods on pg. 21 of the owner's manual.
The Reheat feature reheats servings of previously cooked foods or a plate of leftovers. You can find information on the Reheat feature on pg. 17 of the owner's manual.

No Backlight, hard to read control panel

It would be VERY VERY HELPFUL if the letters on ythe control panel were backlit when operating the unit.

The door closed issue

The door cannot close well. The door and door frame are not level. On the top,the door is a little higher than the door frame; at the bottom the door is a little lower than the the door frame.

Great venting and under unit light

I don't think this new GE microwave is as powerful as the previous. That may be intentional based on the current society. But it's easy to use and consistent. Love the stainless interior! Love the capacity!! Tried the air fry but it seems to leave the interior very hot. Haven't tied the convection oven yet. Would be very helpful if GE would spring for more detailed instructions and maybe a cookbook with a few basic recipes for each aspect of the oven. Controls are easy to use . Haven't figured out how to adjust the power. The button just tells me that it can't. Don't know if I would spend this much money for it again, having used it . The vent is quite powerful and the light is amazing
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Microwave GE with air fryer does not deliver!!

Terrible, we bought to remove our air fryer off the counter well big mistake microwave with airfryer falls short to deliver, heating takes time just in general, my kids miss our old one big regret!

We have only had this microwave for a few months. Works great so far! The only thing I would change is the dial for time. I would prefer the keypad style.
