Great upgrade with many features

This microwave is a serious upgrade from our failing, 2-years old Frigidaire unit. It looks very nice in the kitchen and will be easy to use when we get used to the new controls. Much higher quality.

We also love the ease of use with this microwave. This microwave has nifty features including Air Fry. You can now achieve crispy, never greasy, fried food results in your oven without the oil. We are confident that this microwave will serve you well for many years to come.

I like it

It works great. The controls are a little confusing at first and the manual doesn't cover everything (like air fry) as completely as it could. With a little time, I'm sure I'll get used to it and come to love it. It is very quiet and easy to clean, which is great.

My microwave died after 31/2 years. I am so disappointed and frustrated, this is supposed to be a top notch microwave, my last GE profile microwave lasted more than 6 years, is there a recall or can someone assist? Thanks

Dual Use Microwave and Convection Oven

Great looking microwave. Being that it is a dual use microwave and convection oven, it does take much longer to microwave food which is frustrating and will take some time to get used to.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Unless you're using Combination Fast Bake, the microwave cooking performance is not impacted by the convection capabilities. Try using Cook Time or Add 30 secs to see how the microwave performs. You can also run a performance test. Place a glass bowl (preferably a 2 quart glass measuring bowl) filled with 1 quart of water in the center of the microwave oven cavity. The water temperature must be between 59°F to 75°F. Heat the water for exactly 2 minutes and 30 seconds on the High power level. The High power level is the default heat setting on the microwave. A temperature rise in the range of 28° to 40°F indicates your microwave oven is heating/cooking properly. Note: The thermometer should be used only when in the bowl of water is not in the microwave. Do not place the thermometer inside the microwave. It could explode and cause personal injury as well as damage to the microwave. If your microwave is not heating properly based on this test, please call Bodewell at 1-833-4BODEWELL to schedule an appointment to have your microwave evaluated and repaired as needed.

Air fryer stinks.

The microwave function is fine. We have not tried the convection function. The "air fryer" function is extremely disappointing. It seems like a GE after thought. We have a Cuisinart air fryer that puts this one to shame. The included metal rack and metal tray seem totally inappropriate for air frying. The air fryer doesn't brown or toast. It just heats premade food. I don't see that it is and different than the microwave. I can't find any accessories that work with this air fryer. The Quick Guide and downloaded Owners Manual are useless with regards to the air frying function. I am disappointed with GE support. I've contacted them twice and mention that I have the Quick Guide and have downloaded the Owners Manual and their timid response included a link to the downloadable Owners Manual. I wish there was a GE users community so we could share tips on how to use the horrible air fryer function.

The metal rack should be used as it allows the heated air to move all around the food item. We recommend using the cooking guide in the Owner's Manual or follow the Air Fry instructions on prepackaged food items. If your foods are not browning when using Air Fry we encourage you to call our service team Bodewell at 1-833-4Bodewell to have your microwave evaluated and repaired as needed.

GE Profile 1.7 cu

Instructions are not clear to understand on how to use the convection part of the oven. Can not figure out how to input different foods types. Have been using old air fryer, because I can't figure out how to properly operate. Now feel that I should have kept the micro wave and air fryer separate. A little disapppointed.

When using Convection, you follow the same cooking instructions as you would for regular baking. You may notice the temperature you input will be reduced by 25° which is normal for convection baking. You have the option of using pre-set Air Fry or Manual Air Fry instructions. The pre-set choices are listed on page 21 and with the Manual instructions you follow the package instructions for time and temperature. Additional information is available in the online Owner's Manual - https://images.salsify.com/image/upload/s--F3owBnOW--/f51573a7201700990cd0ef9d330a0deb0e451ba4.pdf.
