Cheap Blade Chopping Assembly

One of the main reasons I bought this was it included a chopper blade. The chopping assembly is cheap plastic. I used it twice and it cracked. The third time it fell apart. Decided mine might have been defective and came on this site to by a new one. They are out of stock here and on other sites as well. So I'm assuming it's not just mine. If the whole assembly were metal, maybe it wouldn't break so easily.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

While we always strive to replenish stock as expediently as possible, there are times when there is a gap of time between when a product goes out of stock, and when we receive more stock. Love the wand - hate the bowl

I use the wand very often. It works beautifully. However, after using the chopping bowl to make salsa, I noticed a crack at the bottom. I have never put the bowl in a dishwasher, never used it for anything harder than onions. I don’t understand why it would split like this. It’s really too bad because I bought the product partially for the ability to do small volume chopping. Otherwise happy with the product. Disappointing.

Love a lot of the features, wish the chopping bowl was better

Overall, I am happy for this as a purchase. Works great as an immersion blender, but I'm disappointed with the chopper bowl. Both of the blades are quite near the bottom of the bowl, so it is hard to get an even chop throughout the bowl: it tends to get pureed at the bottom and then not do anything to the stuff at the top. It would be better if one of the blades was further up or if there was a second set of blades further up. Pretty good set, but frustratingly close to great: I would be shouting this from the rooftops if the mini chopper worked better: maybe you could make a new blade piece for it and offer as an accessory for current owners to buy?

small chopper bowl cracked

I bought this two years ago, primarily for use as an immersion blender. So far, the immersion blender works fine. I rarely use the small chopper bowl. Tonight I used it, and after washing, I noticed that it had cracked along the bottom. This item has not been heavily used; it has never had boiling water poured in it; it has never been put in the dishwasher. Literally, a couple of times making pesto or chopping nuts, and now it's cracked. I expected better.

Like the Control Grip! But Chopping Bowl has durability issues...

Overall like the Control Grip, and this is the second Breville immersion type blender we've owned. Generally light use overall... and so was surprised to realize the plastic in the bottom of the Chopping Bowl (under the Blade Insert) was cracking and chipping off during use. Admittedly about two years old and so out of warranty, but would have hoped for longer use life from a low wear plastic component.

Best for large quantities

I purchased this immersion blender based on multiple otstanding reviews. My primary objective was blending soups to avoid transfering to a blender. I used it once to make cream of carrot soup. It did not puree the carrots and left small bits. Additionally, this hand blender is huge. Better suited for stock pots. I have small hands and stand 5', so a shorter lighter blender would work better for me. Sadly i chose to return this item.
