Great blender (chopping bowl not so much)

Tend to be impressed with Breville products so bought this blender despite being more expensive then some other well regarded options. For blending we've been real please with it, the anti suction bottom works better than our previous blender and for pureeing soups or sauces in a pot or bowl the blender has worked great and seems solid. The separate chopping bowl attachment however leaves much to be desired and seems to be a bit lower in quality than I'd have expected. Our chopping bowl (despite very light usage) cracked on the bottom, really unclear how it happened and unfortunately was not under warranty. Hopefully Breville can improve that chopping bowl and then they will have a really stellar product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

High hopes dashed.

Feels solid when using the main blade, but always feel like it is backwards, like the button is on the wrong side.
Attaching the shaft to the motor is a bit awkward because the driveshaft is not held in the center, so I'm worried it will break.
Whisk gearbox is very noisy so I don't want to use it.
No point to having so many "speeds". Hardly any difference from 1 to 9, then very fast/noisy from 10-15. Should just be Low, Medium and High.
Bell (with the blade) is too wide so doesn't fit in some containers I typically use. I think this is because they wanted to reduce suction, but it also means it doesn't blend quite as well since it doesn't pull ingredients/liquid in as much.
Food chopper is sad: when trying to chop one onion, it basically pureed what it could reach at the bottom but could not actually move the rest of the onion which I had already chopped into many pieces. It also feels very flimsy.
Overall, rather disappointed I bought it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor quality chopping bowl and lid

My chopping bowl developed a large crack across the bottom after just a few uses. The plastic also does not clean well and I find after scrubbing throughly there is a sticky and strange film left of the chopping bowl, the chopping bowl lid, and the blade. It may be that the quality of the plastic is not good. It is impossible to get it clean like it was when I got it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nice Design but Motor Stopped Working

I purchased my product just under two years ago and have only used it a handful of times or less. For the several times I used it, it worked very well. Most recently I was making a pesto cream sauce, and in the middle of the process the motor overheated and just stopped out of nowhere. I was a bit surprised as I was just chopping basil, olive oil and garlic so it wasn’t as if the motor was being overworked. Loved the product but super disappointed in the durability.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great blender, bad plastic

Love the blender, strong and fast and effective and has done a ton of work for me.
Chopping bowl cracks and chips easily and eventually becomes unusable, totally different story.
How to get a replacement or a better bowl that fits?
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointing poor quality chopping bowl

I noticed a crack across the bottom of my chopping bowl yesterday as I was using it for the third time since purchase. I believe it is a design fault as I noticed when reading reviews on the product website that this is a common product complaint going back a number of years. I purchased this control grip immersion blender as I presumed the quality would be excellent, however I am disappointed that this issue has not been rectified. Overall the wand works very well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Solid build with plenty of power on the immersion blender. I had an issue with the chopper blade not working properly. Breville replaced it in a reasonable amount of time, and now it works as expected. I honestly don't imagine I will ever use the whisk, but it seems fine. Happy with this purchase to replace our old set.
