Efficient and effective

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this unit for just over a month. We've never had an air conditioning unit before, but we decided that we suffered through a few too many hot nights last summer. We like that it has an eco mode, so after cooling the room, it goes to sleep and the fan chimes once every 10 minutes to maintain the temperature. We use that an hour or so before going to bed so that it's cool when we're trying to get to sleep, without needing to blast it. That said, as with many efficient models, this unit isn't designed to drain water because it uses condensate to keep it cool. So there are times where the fan is audibly splattering, which is a bit noisier than we'd like.

Can't find any faults

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I live in a small apartment that consists of a large kitchen 2 small bedrooms and a bathroom. I had a 5000 BTU air conditioner in my bedroom but it was getting older and it was very loud so I decided to purchase this airconditioner that is 6000 BTU's.
I have it in my bedroom and it is quiet enough for me to sleep. As far as air conditioners go I think it's the quietest one I've ever heard. I have my bedroom door open at all times as I do live alone, and I leave my other bedroom door shut so that I'm not paying to cool it for nothing. I have my air conditioner on energy saver and thus far it's kept my whole apartment cool. It hasn't been incredibly hot yet, although it's supposed to be going into the nineties over the weekend and being very humid but I don't foresee that my apartment will heat up. I think it will remain cool with this size air conditioner. I believe the area that I'm cooling is probably about 3:50 ft².

Dual Adjustable Vents

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchase this window a/c for a home office on 2nd floor since central air doesn't get the room cool enough. This unit works as intended. The ability to adjust both vents is a great plus.

makes a horrible noise

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The cooling is great for 6000 BTUs but it makes a terrible noise almost like a sizzling sound. Hoping it can be fixed. If it can I would recommend this product because a great value.

Really does the job

Only complaint is that it can be noisy when it is very hot/humid out. Not a deal breaker. Eventually read why and found it interesting - but would have been nice to know up front.

Overall Preformance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have two 18,500 BTU and one 11,000 BTU units that are also heating. I keep them the same because I like all the features such Energy Efficient Mode, on & off timers, digital thermostat, etc. and all my control panels are similar. In the Energy Efficient Mode the larger the unit, the better it works. None of them work as well in that mode as the normal cooling! This one is the least helpful, but I've got it in a small kitchen that is only about 70 sq. feet. I'm very happy with all 4 that I own. It's just that bigger is better, but cost more and may not be worth it in certain area. Just remember, their 'ain't no Santa Clause"!
