Do NOT Buy for a Bedroom

If you are not deaf and do not like LOUD dripping/tapping noises this is a no go. I'm talking so loud that even when the unit is on HIGH with a pillow over your head you can STILL hear the dripping/tapping sound. This is constant the entire time the unit runs every 5-7 seconds, it will keep you awake at night!

Nice and quiet!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We've had this unit for about a month now here in NYC, where it can get pretty humid, especially as summer draws near. The unit was easy to install for two people (this model is lightweight enough for one person to carry, though I helped my husband by lowering the window while he held the unit in place). This air conditioner cools down our eastern-light, 165 sq. ft. living room very quickly, but my favorite aspect is how quiet it is! It doesn't make us raise the volume on our TV, and it's more of a white noise quietly humming in the background. I haven't used the other features (Sleep, etc) but I am looking forward to using this product this summer and can highly recommend it.

very noisy

This was a replacement air conditioner for a broken unit. The first unit was very quiet and ran smooth. The replacement is very noisy makes all kinds of noises expect it to break down anytime. A big disappointment.

A good buy!

I bought this product about a month ago and have been using it almost non-stop since. For installing it has these great insulation panels that slip into the side extensions. I was surprised to see it also has a clean air feature you can turn on to remove pollen and dust from the air! It keeps my studio apt nice and cool and it doesn't have to run all the time either. Thankfully it's quiet too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought two of these for a one bedroom new york apartment....
its super loud, and with all that noise , not much, cool air coming out. its still spring in new york, so it hasn't gotten really hot. I had both AC units on all day today , at the lowest setting tempeture, and the room tempeture is still 74F. energy saving system doesn't work at all,the unit shut off when its set , lets say to 66F, but room tempeture never dropped lower that 74..... our previous units that were 5000 BTU, had more cooling power that this!!!!!! very disappointed
save your self she time and go with something different....

To make sure your air conditioner is working as designed, you want to make sure that the air conditioners are the correct size for your room. If the air conditioner is too large for the room, it may not cool efficiently. I hope this helps. Very Reliable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this unit for a little over a year now and I'm pretty happy with it. My room is cool and comfortable in under 30 minutes. It's easy to use and doesn't look bad in the window at all.
I give it 3 stars because recently, it developed a mildew smell and I can't seem to get rid of it. The manual instructs not to take it apart. I called and the best solution they had was to use bleach. It's a temporary solution at best. It lasts about an afternoon but comes back the next day. Nothing shows at all how to clean it and it's embarrassing to have anyone over when my room smells like I don't do laundry. If 5 stars if I can find a solution though.

I understand you’re having a bit of trouble tackling the mildew smell from your unit.
Air conditioners remove moisture from the air. The water collects in the base of the unit. It is possible for some water to sit stagnant in the base of the air conditioner for extended periods, especially during very humid weather.
I recommend revisiting your model’s installation instructions to ensure your unit is properly draining any excessive water.
Also, if you feel bleach is a bit harsh. Combine 1/2 cup white vinegar with 2 cups hot water in a large bowl or spray bottle. Spray, or apply the mixture with a sponge, onto the vents.
Scrub the affected areas thoroughly with an old toothbrush or scrub brush, and then rinse clean with warm water.
Should the above suggestion prove ineffective, I recommend contacting a professional cleaning company for further assistance.

Great appliance

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Works great at cooling the room and maintaining a good temperature. I wish the remote had more night time friendly features like, showing me the settings the ac is set on and an led lit screen. I also don't like that It automatically goes on eco whenever I turn it on because, although I love the environment and would love this feature, but it turns off the ac and the hum of the ac helps me sleep so when it turns off it disrupts me. I thought it would function like how the auto function works, which is why my ac is always on auto and I turn it off completely when I don't need the ac running. But other than that, It works well and is easy to clean.
