Super quiet very cool

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very easy instalation even came with side guard foam insulation panels and is much queiter than any of my fairly new similar units. Had it 4 months and so far its been awesome.

Compact and quiet

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this airconditioner for a few weeks now. mounted to my window with a brace to secure the weight of the unit---that may seem like an extra step but I highly recommend it. It works; it's more compact and quieter than the Friedrich unit it replaced and it looks nice.
**However, the remote is not very informative. There needs to be either some kind of visual indicator, or lights, to show which features are engaged. So I'm taking one star off the rating.** This is something Frigidaire can easily fix and supply as a replacement for existing units and ship with all future units.

Nice while it briefly lasted

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit worked great for 4 years. Installed it in the window for the 5th summer, and it didn't work. Just a low humming sound at first, then the fans eventually started going and they made a very different, much louder sound than usual. The fans moved freely without any blockage or obstruction, and no bad grinding sounds or anything like that, so I don't know what the issue is.

Very Reliable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had this unit for a little over a year now and I'm pretty happy with it. My room is cool and comfortable in under 30 minutes. It's easy to use and doesn't look bad in the window at all.
I give it 3 stars because recently, it developed a mildew smell and I can't seem to get rid of it. The manual instructs not to take it apart. I called and the best solution they had was to use bleach. It's a temporary solution at best. It lasts about an afternoon but comes back the next day. Nothing shows at all how to clean it and it's embarrassing to have anyone over when my room smells like I don't do laundry. If 5 stars if I can find a solution though.

I understand you’re having a bit of trouble tackling the mildew smell from your unit.
Air conditioners remove moisture from the air. The water collects in the base of the unit. It is possible for some water to sit stagnant in the base of the air conditioner for extended periods, especially during very humid weather.
I recommend revisiting your model’s installation instructions to ensure your unit is properly draining any excessive water.
Also, if you feel bleach is a bit harsh. Combine 1/2 cup white vinegar with 2 cups hot water in a large bowl or spray bottle. Spray, or apply the mixture with a sponge, onto the vents.
Scrub the affected areas thoroughly with an old toothbrush or scrub brush, and then rinse clean with warm water.
Should the above suggestion prove ineffective, I recommend contacting a professional cleaning company for further assistance.

Picked up my second after purchasing a year ago

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is actually my second model! I have two in my apartment; one in the bedroom and one in the livingroom. They both work well as intended and are easy to install within a window. Do make sure you purchase the correct BTU for the intended square footage of the intended room. Having the right size for the space makes energy efficiency a breeze!
